Related: About this forumVideo Replay-Bernie Sanders Town Hall Meeting - Minneapolis
http://theuptake.org/2015/05/31/bernie-sanders-town-hall-meeting/Sanders said his campaign had scheduled the Minnesota stop as almost an afterthought it was on the way to Iowa. But the event which was scheduled to be a gathering for two hundred at a union headquarters quickly drew thousands of RSVPs and was moved to the larger gym at the Minneapolis American Indian Center.
People are calling for a political revolution in this country, said Sanders. He said it will take more than him to fight back against the powerful billionaire class that runs Washington, D.C. politics and uses its money to get middle class people to vote against their own best interests.
Sanders says the economy is rigged to benefit the most wealthy and that has to change so it works for everyone and not just a privileged few.

(34,661 posts)organizers didn't use Augsburg or Hamlin field houses. We packed over 10k for other Candidates. Next rally will need somebodies Stadium. Big thank you to the Guys and Gals at the Union Hall and a big thanks to all the wonder folks at the Native American Center.
Interesting side bar,how will Glenn Taylor's Star and Trib run their story.

(45,251 posts)Next time, they'll know to line up a junior high gymnasium or something better suited to his very small group of fans.

(34,661 posts)that was to be in a small setting, oops, same thingee. The Press is really doing a CYA on the weekend happenings. Cooligan from the Trib is a total Ring Wing Dick Wad.

(45,251 posts)go through before they started to cover him as though he were running for POTUS instead of for Mr. Senior Burlington. I guess the crowds are accelerating that process.

(34,661 posts)All of the 1%ers and the every single Third Way Democrat. Which is just short for most of Washington D.C.. Jimmy Carter was who,and what is a Jimmy Carter and we know how that worked out. Same scenario for Hubert Humphrey, five and six thousand people in small College theaters and next came field houses. What wiped us out was the Kennedy Money and their East Coast deep pockets.

(14,177 posts)It kind of felt like I did. Even if I did no problem it was awesome seeing so many people there. I took the bus and when I got off I got off the bus with at least a dozen people. I knew where to get off because I saw a line a couple blocks long in two directions. Okay back to watching the video.

(14,177 posts)LOL The line that was two blocks long was to sign up to work on Bernie's Campaign. I thought it was another line from another direction to get in to hear the speech. Any who when the line died down I signed up.

(14,177 posts)it was kind of a controlled chaos. It's hard to organize a crowd of 5000 on the fly. But, everyone was well behaved so that helped bunches.

(417 posts)I got there about an hour and a half before they opened the doors. I talked to lot of folks that drove in from all over Minnesota and Wisconsin. Lots of older and younger folks showed up. It was pretty inspiring. I hope he returns here soon. Minnesotans love Bernie!

(34,057 posts)that as a non violent person I finally feel I can put away my torches and pitchforks, I have Bernie now, lol. Bernie and the masses of us ready to help him move forward.
I love that he is dead damed serious, there is no gaming a crowd for support, no smiling photo ops in the middle, no props just an older gentleman who is ready to move forward and impatient to get it done.
Wowza.
