Related: About this forumI was blocked from Hillary group
Because in response to the someone in the WH stating that Hillary was PBO's natural heir... I replied we aren't a monarchy and the WH should leave the voters to decide the next candidate. There is no such thing as a "natural" heir in a democracy. No bloodline or coronation.
DUers know, and u can chk any of my posts, that I'd be proud to vote for any of our candidates and have always stated this.
I'm hurt. I truly believe that any sitting prez should not get entwined in the heated primary races. They should be above the fray and then when the voters make their choice, the prez's endorsement would carry more weight with ALL voters including independents and republicans. The media wouldn't be able to discredit presidential endorsement by inferring the prez was speaking out of both sides of their mouth. Which the media likes to do.
So I got banned. Thx a lot Hillary group. Just thanks for the ugliness.

(47,953 posts)They ban everybody who isn't a total rabid HRC supporter. The slightest sign of an open mind is grounds for banning.
And your point is well taken. Democracy should not be a game of "I got next".

(4,246 posts)Maybe we are generally but not in the Hillary group.
Such lack of critical thinking and cutting off open discussion doesn't serve their candidate well.
I'll not venture over there again.

(11,175 posts)I've thought about trashing the group, but I do find it amusing to read some of their nastiness about anyone who's not completely on board for Hillary. I find it particularly amusing that they say such vile things about people who disagree with them, then pop up in GD-P to complain about the negativity of Sanders supporters.

(23,867 posts)They failed to see how it applied to the thread, condemned me for being off topic, and shut the door on me. It does hurt. It feels sad to me that we have failed to unite through intelligent conversation. Or something.

(11,175 posts)First, they're now up to 425 listed blocked members. Your number is several hours old so it's understandably out of date!
Second, they've blocked more than 425 because they've pruned their list, presumably as people are PPR'd. For example, Manny Goldstein is no longer on the list. I'm pretty sure that I was #99 at one point but now I'm only #93.

the nomination anyway. The only real concern I have about her becoming President is having Bill back in the Whitehouse again.

(4,246 posts)If I could ask... Why is this going on? Why not just debate policies to death like we used to do? I've been a member since 2001 and think this is childish.

I'm pming you because I can't reply to your post, what with being banned and everything.
I'm not even American, I'm British and don't want another Republican presidency, not after what happened with Bush.
I was banned for saying that Bill Clinton is respected over here for his part in the Northern Ireland peace process and that Sanders is relatively unknown, both of which are true.
And I really, honestly, don't mind who gets in as long as they're not Republican.
I think the people who run such groups are a bit hypersensitive about the whole thing.

Have we found an important clue about where the Holy Grail of progressive politics is probably -not- hidden?
