Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders hit back at the Washington Post on Thursday after the paper published an editorial accusing him of peddling fiction to voters with his progressive politics.
(Snip)
People are telling us, whether its the Washington Post editorial board or anybody else, our ideas are too ambitious cant happen, Sanders responded. Too bold really? Well, heres something which is really bold. In the last 30 years, there has been a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class and working families of this country. The middle class has become poorer and trillions of dollars have been transferred to the top one-tenth of 1 percent
Where was The Washington Post to express concern that the middle class was shrinking?
But that retort apparently wasnt enough for Sanders.
According to The Hill, Sanders lashed out again during a Bloomberg Politics breakfast, saying of the Posts editorial board, check out where all the geniuses on the editorial page were with regard to the invasion of Iraq.

http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/blog/techflash/2010/09/ballmer_bezos_fund_effort_to_defeat_state_income_tax.html
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Amazon.com CEO Jeff Bezos have contributed $100,000 each to an effort to defeat an income tax on individuals in Washington state making more than $200,000. Initiative 1098 -- set for the November ballot -- has been a polarizing concept in the business and technology communities. That's due in part to the fact that Bill Gates Sr., the father of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, has emerged as one of the most vocal proponents of the income tax.
Initiative 1098 calls for a reduction in state property taxes and the elimination of the business and occupation tax for some of the state's smallest businesses. Proceeds from the income tax would be used for health services and public education, proponents argue.

Bernie has the right timing and force of his convictions. I think these will increase...he's been holding back and taking the high road. Get his ire up and we'll see some real fireworks.

So when he is questioning them about Iraq...that is LASHING OUT?
I've now noticed a lot of that type of verbiage...anything he says, that in a nutshell is "questioning authority" is now lashing out...or some other nonsense.
How dare he hold them to account!

(41,505 posts)When he was asked about foreign policy, Sanders detoured: "Getting back to The Washington Post check out where all the geniuses on the editorial page were with regard to the invasion of Iraq." (They supported it.)

Feeling the Bern

One of the many reasons I support that man!

Bernie's key point, and indeed the theme of his election.
Which is . .
"In the last 30 years, there has been a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class and working families of this country. The middle class has become poorer and trillions of dollars have been transferred to the top one-tenth of 1 percent
"
The journalists of the ONE PERCENT will deflect, deny and avoid; but they will not address that question.
Why won't they? They won't because it is TRUE, and can be easily proven.
In fact, I noticed and started teaching my students about that in the late 1980's.
I was right and so is Bernie.
I would hammer on that theme at every opportunity, and in fact I would state it more strongly. The student loan fiasco, for instance, is clearly outright theft. Same with the sub-prime home loans - that is not a "transfer," it is "THEFT."
