I think posting the articles is probably fine if it is latest breaking news. Adding a polite comment or two is also fine. But as a white liberal, I have to avoid pontificating in these moments and accidentally sucking up all the oxygen or making it more about me. Check my privilege.

So my tendency on tumblr and twitter is to reblog and share without comment.

You're walking into a minefield, and the danger of whitesplaining is strong. Tread carefully. I think we should all learn from our early reaction to Black Lives Matter, when a lot of us, myself included, fell into the "But he marched with Dr King!" trap. I hope all Bernie supporters can now agree that this was not our finest hour.

On edit: Is this is an honest question out of the blue or did something happen?

If a straight question, the general rule of thumb is to speak up but not over, white voices tend to drown out black ones and it's important to be conscious of that. There's nothing wrong with simply sharing articles though, it's actually good in my opinion.

I hadn't read the comments yet when I posted. My answer to your question is still the same though.

Black people are as diverse in opinion as anyone else and there is bound to be disagreement you could get caught in. I don't see anything wrong with posting her tweet but I suggest avoiding further commenting, lest you come across like you are "lecturing" black people. There's enough patronizing to go around as it is.

Let black Bernie supporters argue the point.

Where does it end ...only those of the same ethnicity as the author are allowed to post articles ? I was taught to utilise good ideas no matter where they come from , regardless of gender , race or religion . This identity politics is one of the main reasons I believe that honest discourse is becoming harder to initiate .

As for what others perceive I am not all that worried . If an idea can't stand up to discussion it's probably a bad idea no matter what the skin colour of the person offering the idea/argument .

Those who are still caught up with this "whitesplaining" narrative ( an offensive enough term in and of itself ) usually are trying to stop discussion and are berated to tow the line .

Why does skin colour indicate strength of opinion ? That is what I struggle with . Certainly there are issues related to individual groups of people but to exclude others from discussion is just as backwards as segregation and just as dangerous in my opinion .

to explain to people that won't listen.

The onus is not on poc and the privileged don't call the shots. There's nothing more to say, the rest has already been said, ad nauseum. For many, many years. I'll deal with people willing to listen honestly.

I don't see that here.
