Massachusetts

Very many reports already today of people who are lifelong Democrats who changed affiliations to vote for Trump.

Their rationale "They just don't want Hillary"

Apparently they don't care that she has an opponent far better than Trump and they wouldn't have to switch parties.

If this is the norm, we are losing a good number of potential votes to Trump today.

* I got this information after speaking to a radio personality I know who has been receiving emails all morning.

One is a brilliant artist/architect, first CO in the Air Force during Vietnam. He is funding the Sanders office in town. I'm still shocked, but I totally understand. The common denominator is that Trump at least tells the truth, whereas Hillary is like Bush: you don't know what you're getting.

He says a lot of nasty, hateful stuff that he knows a lot of uninformed people will agree with; he validates their biases. But he knows damn well he can't build a wall along the Mexican border and make Mexico pay for it; he can't deport all the undocumented immigrants and Muslims. Most of his "platform" is stuff that is some combination of stupid, impossible and unconstitutional and will never happen. I doubt he even believes most of what he says (except the crap about how wonderful he is), but his whole career has been as a salesman and he'll say whatever it takes to make the sale. If, God help us, he ever became president, his supporters will be very disappointed.

Trump is a pathological liar. Recent examples: He blamed not repudiating David Duke to Jake Tapper to a bad earpiece even though he answered the questions and repeated Duke's name multiple times. He claimed to know virtually nothing about David Duke even though he condemned him about 15 years ago and made critical remarks about him a day or two prior. He declared a crowd estimated at 12,000 to 15,000 on Sunday was 30,000, then bumped it to 32,000.

Trump can barely get out a sentence without lying.

Not to say that Hillary isn't also a liar, because she is.

Donald Trump will break records in Massachusetts today.

It's insane and real.

We had people in Attleboro, Fall River and Seekonk today, close to the RI border. Hour long lines to vote. Informal estimate was almost 75% Trump. One line for both parties.

Believe me, I want to be so wrong. He is hurting us today.

He will not vote for Hillary. He will stay home, or vote for Trump.

Dump Hillary, and Dump Her Fast: The Democratic Establishment is on a Suicide Mission, and it Will End With Trump

So, with everything going against Hillary Clinton, why does the Democratic establishment continue to insist she’s the most electable candidate, when it’s so clearly such a risky prospect? Well, it’s hardly conspiratorial that Democratic superdelegates would side with Clinton, that people of wealth and influence would continue to publicly throw their support behind her, or that the pro-Dem media would largely be pro-Clinton. Clinton promises to continue where Obama left off, which is another way of saying she intends to maintain the status quo, a status quo that her backers would prefer wasn’t rocked by someone like Bernie Sanders.

The Democratic establishment doesn’t want a Democrat as president – it specifically wants Hillary Clinton as president. And so a myth has been concocted in a pro-Clinton environment, that Clinton is the ‘pragmatic’ choice, the one that you as a Democrat simply have to vote for if you want to beat the GOP. And when even the most ‘moderate’ of the Republican candidates, Marco Rubio, denies the existence of climate change, argues for the TPP, wants to scrap affordable care and opposes a woman’s right to decide what’s best for her own body, you’ll vote for any old Democrat if it keeps the White House out of Republican hands. That Dem voters are apparently largely stumping for Clinton, even though less than four in ten of them actually trust her, speaks volumes.

One could argue that Bernie Sanders would be more beneficial to the average voter and to the country on the whole than Clinton (and that has been argued, though experts still debate that), but the Democratic establishment’s main counter-argument has been that a vote for Bernie Sanders is also a vote for the GOP. Sanders is just less electable; vote Bernie, and you get Trump. Voters have been repeatedly told that, only that isn’t true. In actuality, Sanders at present has a clearer path to the White House than Clinton, who is struggling with a nationwide ‘trust deficit’ and is only going to face more battles as time goes on.

None of us can see into the future to know for sure whether Clinton will eventually bring round Sanders-stumping Dems and independents to beat the GOP in November. It is a plain fact, however, that Bernie Sanders has – according to statistics – for the past several months been the best bet for voters seeking a Democrat as the next president. Only the mainstream media didn’t shout too loudly about that. Right now, stumping for Hillary Clinton in the Democratic primary is a huge gamble, one that most voters won’t even be aware they’re making. Rest assured, though, that the Democratic establishment – the politicians, the press, the big-money donors – knows exactly what kind of game it’s playing. And it’s playing it so irresponsibly, it may as well be a suicide mission.

If there is not record turnout for the Republicans today and if Donald does not surpass Romney's vote total, I'll come back and say I got bad info.

Again, I don't want this to be true. The people I spoke to have nothing to gain by lying to me.

Will say that all my friends and coworkers in CA, both democratic and republican alike say they'd vote for Bernie if he's the nominee. If not they plan to either not vote at all or vote for Trump. It's really disturbing, because cynically I don't see Bernie being the nominee. (Even though I'd like him to be the nominee.) The only ray of hope is that republican establishment forces Trump out of the race. It's a really crazy election cycle for sure.
