Right before going to commercial, Chris Matthews said something like "don't worry about missing any of Donald Trumps' speech, we have it on record for all of you Trump junkies"

It's the exact opposite -keep people uninformed, misinformed, keep them under the dark when important things are happening, distract them with trainwreck and spectacles, and when they get real information from elsewhere, try and beat them down with propaganda, scaring them so they will keep their place and not get organized.
