2 phone calls and now 2 texts from Bernie's campaign so far here in Detroit. (updated)

3 mailers from Hillary's and they were all on gun control.


The difference in tactics here is stark.


Mailers are old school. This was the first time I ever got a text to help GOTV. I can now see why he is doing well with younger voters. Texting is how they tend to communicate and I think this tactic would be a great way to reach them.


Edit to add:

The first text was asking if they can count on me voting for Bernie tomorrow. I replied "Yes!" with a thumbs up emote. A little while later I got a 2nd text with information on where my polling location will be and to make sure I bring photo ID, along with some other information and suggestions.

This really is a new generation of GOTV efforts.

If I want to talk to my daughter, I text her to call me and have done so for a long time. She just doesn't answer her phone
