Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumHey, Sanders group. Just popping in to spread a mite of good news.
I've tried to stay out of pretty much any of the GD: P-style stuff, but I feel a need to post this.
My fiance and I just got our Bernie bumper-stickers (out of the blue and without asking, apparently), and it seems like almost all of Central New York did as well. During a half hour drive, I counted Sanders stickers by the dozens. This is in the normally red-ish and rural area of the state. CNY's feeling the Bern something fierce. It remains to be seen if we can counter the unholy-powerful New York City bloc of voters, but we'll do our damnedest up here.
Also, if I ever see a Hillary sticker, I'll make note of it. Hasn't happened yet, though.
Going back to lurking. Just wanted to share. Take care, folks.

(20,166 posts)I have also seen a handful of ones for Bernie, though. A couple Trumps. And then there are the ones saying they miss Reagan or Bush.
I live in a rural area in Maryland that's more purple than it is red or blue.

(33,982 posts)I'm willing to acknowledge that, and if it came down to the three of them, I'd vote Hillary. Sure.
But Hillary is a lot closer to the two of them than she will admit, and I don't like being misled about how far left she is on most issues. I try to be nice, keep an open line of communication to her supporters, but I just get my hand slapped for the most part. So, I don't know what to do.
It looks like the establishment has the media all lined up to edge out Bernie, and that sucks and terrifies me. Don't know what to do.
I see zero Hillary stickers and signs in Seattle. I've seen ONE pro-Hillary post where someone actually took the time to type out five words of their own, and that's it.
I don't know how they are so sure Hillary can win. Why hitch your wagon to her baggage train if there's an alternative? I don't get it. Bernie's only 'baggage' is pretty much 'socialist', which can be overcome. His brand of 'socialism' looks a lot like trade unionism, and there's a shitload of blue collar union workers in this country, people who depend on them, people who are parents of them, etc. The parallels are solid.

I've seen one Drumpf yard sign several Bernie yard signs and one big ass Bernie banner.
As for bumper stickers, I've seen far more Bernie stickers than any others.

(22,380 posts)I just found out I was invited for a new trip to Marathon the end of August. I have these invitations from a home owner there, but never know if they repeat.
I'll be waving at you on my way through Key Largo and Tavernier...... Cant' wait.

(2,979 posts)But August is like THE worst time to visit.
It's hotter than 9 Hells and smack in the middle of Hurricane season.
The time to visit is this time of year.
Very few mosquitoes and even fewer Hurricanes.

And one window sign.
This is compared to thousands of Bernie bumper stickers and signs.

Let's hope the state goes for Bernie in the primary.

(22,380 posts)I have seen quite a few Bernie yardsigns and stickers. None for Mrs. Clinton. None.
With what is going on in Michigan at the moment, which looks like a win in the making for Bernie, I would not be completely surprised if NC did well on the 15th.
side note:
Got my hair cut yesterday at the 12 dollar place and asked my young stylist if she is registered, she said yes, and will you vote and she said: probably not.
I told her about the various proposals Bernie has in mind for families and young folks, and that we will maybe have a revolution in this country to bring about campaign finance reform so politicians can no longer be bought, and then asked her again if she would go vote.
She answered with a resounding yes, and would I call her to remind her to vote.

(1,587 posts)Today I was out with my mother (grocery shopping, urgh) and finally saw some Hillary signs. There were maybe ten or so on a fairly short stretch of road in town.
There were some more Carson signs (maybe three more) and one Cruz, hiding behind some real estate agent sign (apparently, they're selling a lot of houses currently, though I'd never heard of them before).
Still no Hillary bumper stickers. Nothing in anyone's yard, just tacked up along the verge in town. I think there might have been one Trump sign, but I can't remember. I got home to learn my cousin had dropped dead of a heart attack. Man, I'm losing cousins left and right lately.

(25 posts)I never see any other candidate stickers or yard signs other than Sanders. I'm a technician for the cable company and i cover a lot of ground. So many Bernie signs! Washington state should be a slam dunk for Sanders!
Bernie just took Michigan. It's happening. The revolution won't be televised...

(14,498 posts).... believe me.... I'm working the streets for Sanders and there's a LOT of support for him among the rank and file.
And the more they find out about him... the more they like him.
We've got some surprises in store for TPTB on April 19th. (Although after tonite... I'm not sure even THEY will be *really* surprised.)

Amazing what seeing signs along the side of roads do for visibility. Inexpensive way to get out name recognition which seems to resonate more than one would think.

(3,557 posts)The only bumper stickers I see are for Sanders. I have yet to see a single Hillary one - and I've been looking. Either the Hillary Clinton fans aren't out there or they aren't very proud to announce their support for Hillary on a bumper sticker. I suspect the latter is not the case...
SheilaT
(23,156 posts)Sanders bumper stickers regularly, but I've only seen one or two Clinton ones in the past few weeks.
I have the bumper stickers, but I almost never put any on my car, just because I don't like being that open to the whole world about my political opinions. Comes from living 18 years in Kansas.
