If you really want to help Bernie - Arizona is in play, we vote 3/22 next Tues 85 delegates

Bernie has huge support of the Latino activists in Az.

#1 is Raul Grijalva Congressman from the Tucson area. Raul is also the head of the Progressive Caucus in Congress (which Bernie helped form - just a little fyi ) Raul is a big supporter of Bernie, very influential with the progressives in this state above and beyond the Latino community.

#2 This is the state that passed the Papers Please law. We still have Sheriff Joe, which is unbelievable because as many people despise him as love him... just goes to show you who votes.
Needless to say the Latino population has been pissed for too long in Az. They came out very strongly, organized in 2008 to vote for Obama but of course - polling locations in "their" areas had less machines, therefore longer lines PLUS they conveniently ran out of ballots at the end of the nite.
The Latino community did not show up in the same numbers in 2010, 2012. 2014.
We need to renew hope!

#3 Bernie has the support of one of Arizona's most prominent Latino-rights organizations LUCHA. This is the first time they have ever endorsed a candidate.

#4 Jane has been spending time in our state. One of her issues has been speaking out against is Oak Flat which is a sacred land that the government wants to drill for it's copper McCain voted for this (ugh!) It is a big deal to the environmentalists in our state along with the Native Americans.
She also visited Tent City - Sheriff Joe's famous jail where inmates sleep in tents outside in our devastating heat without air conditioning.
She held her own rally a few days ago and got a larger then expected audience.

#5 Bernie was here yesterday for a rally. Doors opened 5 hours before he spoke. Lines were around the building all day - don't know the exact number that showed up but I'm guessing 10k+

Now about those polls. They don't poll very often.
The first polls showed Bernie with a yuuuuge lead, recently polls showing her with a teeny lead.
He has a lot of support in this state. But unfortunately we keep hearing how he can't win. (that doesn't even matter at this point - make a statement to DC by voting for Bernie in the primary that you want to see a govt for all the people not just the 1%)

It is a closed primary - meaning no indies can vote - so it is even more important that we GOTV for Bernie!
Delegates are awarded proportionally.

Issues for those that call are Immigration!! Remind people of her comments about sending the migrant children home.

Oak Flat - the sacred land that they want to mine for copper - Bernie's record is much better than hers on the environment.

IF we can give him Az next week, it will be a signal to the other states out west that have not yet voted that Bernie is still in this race inspite of what the msm tells you. 3/22 is more important now than ever. If he has some big wins - we go onward. If he doesn't, well..... I don't want to think about that.

Just 10 calls or texts a day from each of us.... Let's GOTV in Arizona

You also have a WHOLE LOT of Californians heading your way this weekend to canvass. I'm also going to copy and paste this thread to our local social media sites.

and we're targeting Spanish-speaking communities by tabling/voter registration at places like swap meets and the farming communities. Kern County will be an uphill battle because of Dolores Huerta but we have hopes in the other Valley counties.

Let him know what you are doing & how you're up against Huerta.
