oh my god... how awesome... FULL IGNORE

I have just really discovered the FULL IGNORE feature.

In 14 years, I think I only had one person on ignore many years ago... and now, unfortunately, the possibilities seem endless... I used to think IGNORE was not conducive to quality discourse and discussion, but now I realize both are in short supply these days.

And the full amnesty... REALLY? I have two persons now on IGNORE, both just returned back because of AMNESTY. BOTH OF THEM each have over 5 jury hides since their recent return... and their comments are just belligerent bullshit.

I have 513 Hillary supporters on ignore. It is a very nice place here with them gone from my view. I got fed up and went to the Hillary threads and went through all 30 pages of threads and did a full ignore on all of them. It took me a while but I think it was a good investment in my time. It also gave me satisfaction watching their posts go poof, each time I refreshed.

The berserkers rampaging thru GD are like crazed drivers driving down a busy sidewalk, with no fear of repercussion. Openly bragging that they can say what they want and they are freed from all constraints.

You can't find the rational, thoughtful discourse (from either camp!) in the swamp of openly provocative bile. The problem with the ignore button is it's been an almost full-time job today. Trash thread the same. If you alert the worst of it, the claims of alert stalking negate the whole point of trying - now matter how vile the post.

This is intolerable. It's ridiculous. It's not the DU of old.

I have NEVER put anyone on ignore in 12 years, but with this amnesty thing, I finally had to break down and use it. Before, I was just counting on them to talk themselves right into a time out, but it seems we can't count on that now, so I have about 10 on the list now and my feed looks so much nicer.

I don't have a problem with reasonable Clinton supporters who are civil, but I've had it with the taunting.

The only reason for that is that person insulted me. However, I am avoiding General Discussion Politics in the event Clinton wins, and I have to vote for her, because her supporters are making it hard for me to pull the lever for her.

If I ever go back to GDP I plan to concentrate on putting people who put smiles in discussions about Libya and Iraq. Those are the people I am going to completely write off. I can not understand how any normal person can laugh off war, death, and destruction.

Admin must realize the virus is going to do damage but are standing back and watching the shitstirrers do their usual baiting. I've seen red baiting and race baiting from two of the usual suspects. There is no discussion of political policy and at this point, I don't think there is anyone who will change their vote. It will be sad but let DU become "Hillary is 44" not going to say "Hillary is 45" because I seriously don't think she could win the GE.

I also believe the Admins are keeping a very close eye on just WHO is being ignored and by how many members. I think they are trying to discern just who is causing most of the grief in the DU community.

I see using FULL IGNORE as casting a ballot: who do I want to throw off the DU island.
