(20,996 posts)...what I agree with is an underlying part of the message, and that is that Bill Clinton and some of his policies have NOT been good for minority communities. Bill Clinton and some of his policies were not good for persons at the lowest rungs of the financial ladder.
Memories of Big Dog wearing shades on Arsenio mix with memories of "three strikes laws" and a welfare "reform" bill that while may not have been specifically aimed at minorities or POC, certainly had a dramatic detrimental affect.
I'll be very frank, I volunteered on Bill Clinton's campaign in 1992, thinking I was getting a updated LBJ with heavy FDR overtones, with a nice mix of JFK thrown into the sauce. Unfortunately, that is NOT what we got.
And no, Hillary Clinton is not Bill Clinton. HOWEVER, there has never been a FLOTUS more active, more involved than HRC. By their own admission, they shared power.

(1,835 posts)It's one thing to chide African-Americans for supporting HRC. I agree with that. It's another thing to use terms like "Stockholm Syndrome" or "battered wives" implying that they can't think for themselves. That's just crap and shows he lacks knowledge of African-American history.
Of course, coming on the heels of the grand HRC amnesty, those who are calling this the beginning of the DU purge are probably right.

(17,064 posts)Both Willie and Manny were banned when they had only 2 hides. The swarm was given amnesty, and now some of the posters reinstated from timeout have additional hides, 6 or 7 in some cases.
Both Willie and Manny were banned for quoted articles, not their words. They may have agreed or not, but it was put up for discussion.

(2,450 posts)Was bad enough but to double down on it was offensive. No doubt.
Something still smells rotten about his being banned though.
Why don't they straight up ask people to leave if they are unwelcome? Even if Bernie people switch their vote, their positions won't change and it will still be a hostile place for us. Stop trying to find reasons to "fire" us, have some dignity and just outright tell us to leave.
I don't understand it, and I'm not going to walk on eggshells all the time. I don't actually need this place, I'm here because I want to be. I'm not interested in being a cog in the machine, DU doesn't pay my bills.

(528 posts)Amazing that 3 dudes can make a website and have you all lock step for Hillary. Why bother thinking, just go with the fearless leaders. This website is a money maker and that is the bottom line. If you think these 3 guys would keep this site going because of their love for Hillary and the DLC party I have a bridge to sell ya.

(1,365 posts)I hope banned doesn't mean forever. This place is becoming too corporate. The Clintons are republican light. Bernie is much more of a Democrat and a much better candidate.
