Turns out the Hillary camp is far more dirty-pool than we (I?) originally thought.

(474 posts)is that an involved and credible-sounding organizer in the college-level Bernie campaign in North Carolina reports numerous instances of what seem to be obstructionism by officials sent from the Democratic party directly targeting the Bernie campaign's efforts to rally young people. Rallies called off and so on. The man on the recording gives a first-hand accounting of numerous such occurrences (and maintains there are many others) designed to effectively disable the campaign. He also contends that the same kind of thing played out in neighboring southern states as well.

(65,290 posts)that we are in need of some accommodation.
In the past, every three or four months I used to post in GD a request that people post a brief main point summary of videos for us deafies. We don't expect a transcript or a detailed summary of points--just a brief statement of what the main point of the video is. It helps us feel part of the conversation. Maybe I should start posting that request again from time to time. (I quit doing it because I didn't want people to get sick of my badgering and then transfer their annoyance to other people with hearing problems.)
BTW, I have a deaf/hard of hearing website (HoH), if you are interested in checking it out. Most (not all) of my articles are humorous--though I am still usually making a serious point about how difficult it is to live in a world of "hearies" when our difficulties make most people annoyed and impatient rather than sympathetic.
My readers tell me that showing my articles to friends, family, co-workers, and bosses produces a change in attitude that no amount of pleading on their own part has ever accomplished. I think it is because I tell a good story and make the situations we face so vivd for those who ever have to face anything like that.

I am a bit insistent myself (as you can see--LOL), so I don't let my difficulties keep me from engaging with life, but many hearing impaired people--especially those who are late deafened so that they have never before had to deal with such issues==end up withdrawn and deeply depressed, feeling embarrassed and guilty about having to ask for accommodation, especially when their requests are often met with annoyance.
Oh, and one funny point: In the guest book on my article "Deaf People Are SO Annoying," a 14-year-old girl wrote this:
YOU MIGHT THINK DEAF PEOPLE ARE ANNOYING BUT I HAVE A DEAF BROTHER AND I HAVE LIVED WITH HIM ALL MY LIFE I AM 14 AND NOT ONCE I HAVE FOUND HES ANNOYING SO GO MAKE FUN OF OTHER PEOPLE OR AT LEAST GROW UP AND FIND SUMTHIN BETTER TO DO THAT PICK ON PEOPLE SO FUCK U
I responded (and please forgive the all-caps. The guest book program doesn't allow for fonts, so capping is the closest I can come to italics, bolding, or underlining for emphasis):
Little girl, READ THE DARNED ESSAY.! My point is that I AM A DEAF PERSON, MY TWO SISTERS ARE DEAF, MY MOTHER WAS DEAF, MY GRANDMOTHER WAS DEAF.
Now do you understand? The essay is SARCASTIC! I am writing about THE ATTITUDE OF HEARING PEOPLE TOWARD US DEAFIES. THEY are the ones who think we deaf people are annoying. I am a deaf person. I don't think we are annoying.
Good lord! Don't they teach you children to READ in school these days? Let me explain SARCASM. When someone does something really really stupid, and another person says, "Nice work, genius!" That doesn't mean that he really thinks it is nice work and that the person who did the stupid thing is genius. SARCASM MEANS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT IT SAYS.
By the way, nice work, genius!!

ALL the signers I know are hearies. In fact, one hearing couple wrote to ask me how to find their own deaf person so they could have someone to sign with. Of course they didn't put it that way, but that is what they were looking for.

In the article (written in 2001), I exptress my belief that ASL should be taught to all children, starting in kindergarten. At the end of the article I mention that my daughter, who was 19 and in college at the time, had started to learn sign, just because it was interesting to her:

Here is another irony for you to consider.
Two nights ago Becky, my nineteen-year-old daughter (who has normal hearing), called me from Missouri, where she attends college. I mentioned Aaron and his sign language interpreter to her, and that prompted her to tell me that she has been studying sign quite intensively for a month--just because it interests her and she thought it would be cool to learn it.
But it had not occurred to her to mention this little project to her deaf mother, simply because she knows that I don't sign and that I am unlikely to learn sign any time soon, if ever.
We have a lot in common and a lot to talk about--but unfortunately signing is not part of what we share.

(4,211 posts)My fiancé and I are both hearing, but we use sign semi regularly with each other. We're not as well versed as we should be, but it's a work in progress. Fortunately https://www.signingsavvy.com/ is a pretty good resource.

(36,063 posts)If these events happened, there's still a lot of levels or responsibility to work back to get to DSW and the Clinton campaign.
Obviously the repercussions would be devastating if it's true, considering the seriousness, it's probably best not to speculate.

He's making very serious allegations.
Who else besides him in the local organizations is raising these questions?
Why hasn't any major media outlet reported anything on this?
