It is galling to see Clinton transformed, undeservedly, into some sort of LGBT icon. When I asked LGBT Labourites whom they would choose, if they could magically ensure either Sanders or Clinton becomes president, some made a passionate case for Clinton, despite a worse record on LGBT rights and although she’s to the right of not only Sanders, but even the British Conservatives on some issues. If people sincerely believe Clinton is their only chance of keeping Trump out the White House, I respect that view, even if I disagree with it. But let’s not pretend her record on LGBT rights is anything other than a mixture of opportunism, belatedness and outright dishonesty.

It's not even the better way. Bernie is light years ahead of her on LGBT issues and he'd destroy Trump in the GE. He didn't have to evolve on LGBT rights, he was always on the right side of the issue. They're putting the cart in front of the horse yet again. I can't wait till Bernie pulls ahead.

Owen Jones, a British Leftist and LGBT activist, says that he can understand the idea that she's a better bet against Trump, though he doesn't think so himself, but that Hillary is in no way, shape, form, or fashion an LGBT icon.

5. Received an email from Human Rights Campaign urging me to vote for Clinton today.

Unsubscribed from their email list, gave them a piece of my mind for throwing a longtime friend to the LGBT community like Bernie under the bus in order to support campaign for a *hopefully* former enemy of our community.

I say hopefully former enemy, because I have no doubt whatsoever that she will turn against the LGBT community in a heartbeat if she thinks it will be politically expedient for her.
