Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI'd be SO embarassed if Bernie behaved the way Hillary does. Thank G-d he's a person of integrity!
Never have we had a more honorable and decent human being run for office. Bernie is a true gem; a life long history of fighting for the oppressed, the environment, and justice in every way possible. He truly fights for EVERY human being, not just for members of a certain class or party. No wonder he won every single city and town in Vermont; they know him better than anyone, and they trust him to always do the right thing. As one Republican Vermonter said: "I may not agree with him on the issues, but he always does right by us!" He deserves every ounce of effort from us to help him win. He is the only candidate in my lifetime that I feel with absolute confidence could help to heal this Nation and the world; heal our divisions, our environment, our broken economic, electoral and public school systems. We are truly blessed to have such a human being in this race!
In contrast, never has such a blatantly corrupt person run for the office of the Presidency under the guise of a "Progressive" as Hillary Clinton. The lying, the arrogance, the outright and blatant election theft has left a permanent taint of illegitimacy on the DNC that will bring shame to the party for decades to come. To think that I once so blindly trusted and supported the Clintons makes me feel like I need a shower to remove the stench of corruption that the memory leaves behind. I apologize for that support, and honestly wish I knew then what I know now. I was one of those mass media consumers who trusted the MSM, never looking beyond headlines and labels. Now I know better, and will never make the same mistake again!

Such a nice contrast to what we're seeing around here, lately. I wish DU were that happy again. I have a feeling it's not going to be.

He's eminently supportable.

(31,935 posts)and whenever someone would say "every politician is the same!" I would respond "There are still a few good people out there who are working for us; Bernie Sanders, for example!" and they would almost always say "Who?" because even 15 years ago the establishment didn't want his message to be heard. So many people still have yet to hear it (including everyone who supports Hillary; if they understood who he was and what he stands for they would be behind him 110%)! So we have to keep speaking out and spreading his message and plan to save our Democracy, or planet, and the lives of working people. The "Status quo" is a no go; we can do SO MUCH BETTER for every American!

(8,333 posts)I don't know if we'll ever have another person with his degree of integrity, intelligence and compassion run for the highest office, at least not in my lifetime. It pains me to see that so many people are not recognizing this incredible opportunity.
Young people who are rallying around him get it. It's their future that's going to be most affected by decisions we make today. They have a lot riding on this election. Some say they're naive and unrealistic. I say they're showing extraordinary wisdom and courage.
Older people like me have a lot to learn from these vibrant beautiful kids.
