Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumPlease convince me to place on ignore
Certain posters who are rabidly anti-Sanders. She makes my blood pressure increase every time I read her posts and I'm afraid I will someday soon post a response to her posts that will get me banned - and I've never received an alert!

(115,681 posts)I don't use it a lot but some people just get under my skin and tempt me to say things I shouldn't. To remove that temptation I send them to my Dungeon of Ignorage. This greatly enhances the DU Experience and keeps me out of trouble.

I do the same and agree with you. It makes the DU experience better.

(1,342 posts)Will do! Some posters here are so smart and witty (like you). I love it.
I gave in, finally, because I realised discourse was dead in the agora. It's 90% horseshit, why dig around for the pony? You can always let them back in when the frenzy is over.

(3,660 posts)But then I realized I'm already banned by many, and they were never after rational discourse anyway. The ones you ban are unlikely to post anything you're going to want to read anyway, probably just inane sniping to deflect away from the point of any of your posts or comments, or to try to deflect and dodge them back at you because you fail to answer all the inane questions in their responses in some weird gotcha game they like to play.
Just do it and rest easier. Trash the Hillary group too, that'll just make your blood boil at the blatant falsehoods there.
Thanks guys! I appreciate your help and support the poster formerly known as a pain in the nak is no more!!!!!!

(3,660 posts)I consider my own reverse situation there a victory and my 'neck' feels much better. This was after those recent oh so sincere and heartfelt "apology" posts got deleted when things took an unwanted turn in the comments.
You'll feel much better now though.

(1,342 posts)Good advice! I trashed the Hillary group too. Thank you.
When I put someone on ignore, I get an additional sense of satisfaction when I go back to their offensive post and refresh, so I can watch their post go "poof."

(14,691 posts)You have no obligation to read her posts. There is no law anywhere that says YOU MUST READ THIS PERSON's POSTS! It isn't the 11th Commandment that you have to read what she posts. There is no 11th Commandment for that matter. I have 66 people on ignore and from what I've read here, that's not much. If for no other reason, do it for your health!!!!! Put this person and whoever else aggravates you on ignore. It will improve your quality of life here instantly. Put them on Full Ignore so you can't get DU mail from them either.

(14,177 posts)Now a great many have gone elsewhere. I come here less and less frequently myself. I like being among people who actually can talk about issues without blaming oppressed groups of people for the problems in this country. Unlike some Hill supporters who say young people these days just want free stuff. Or, if you get a degree it should be in STEM and if it isn't it's your own fault you can't get a good paying job. Sometimes I have to check my tabs...

(7,006 posts)As in the person that alerted this post in the BERNIE GROUP. One would think they have groups that suit their liking more and nothing in the OP was anything close worth Alerting -- thus the overwhelming 2-5 LEAVE IT decision.

(9,688 posts)Another problem with ignore is that sometimes clever people engage with one or another of the insanely irritating trolls, to interesting effects, and those specially spiced subthreads are vanished. But even then, for the worst trolls I'd not say that anything of much value is lost as compared to the sense of liberation that logging in brings.
The most rabid anti-Sanders posters are mostly BrockPAC trolls.
Their trademark is to do ad hominem attacks on "Bernie supporters", swiftboating "Bernie supporters" and sometimes "white progressives" and sometimes "BernieBros" as being if not outright racist, incredibly tone deaf misogynists, sexist and ... otherwise endearing folk.
That's BrockPAC. Paid to Post. Robots.
Putting the ignore on BrockPAC posters isn't a bad thing.
DNFTEC
That's something we used on the old tabletalk political forums many moons ago.
It stands for "Do Not Feed The Energy Creatures."
Put them on ignore. They just aren't worth the energy.
Major Hogwash
(17,656 posts)This will all be over in about another month or so.
The ANTI-Sanders crowd doesn't even acknowledge that the FBI is currently investigating Hillary.
But, there is no way in hell that she gets out from under this black cloud.
She can't lie her way out of it, or buy her way out of it.
That's reality.
To be honest, the race is already over.
Because the Democratic party base is not about to let someone run for President in the GE while they are under indictment.
No way in hell that will happen.
The party leaders know this, and so they will have to disqualify Hillary if she doesn't simply drop out of the race.
So, just use ignore for now to be able to meander on DU.

(11,945 posts)I'm sure there's a lot of talk among D.C. politicians and in the WH. I get the sense we don't know much yet. There have been hints that something is about to happen, and for sure the Clintons must be pulling strings.
I've wondered if this is the reason Hill fans are so nonstop grumpy about everything. They keep saying Hill's won and Bernie's lost but they never sound happy about it, just kind of pushy and unpleasant.
So many things just don't add up right now.
