Just had a very sad thought. No matter how egregious the lies, fraud or corruption dug up on HRC

her supporters will stand by her and defend her. Hmmmmmmph... reminds me of someone else's supporters on the GOP side... let's see. WHO could I be talking about? MUST be a contagion of aberration.

Amazing what a few billion dollars can do in today's world.

I'M VOTING FOR BERNIE. END OF STORY.

When you say something about the Clinton era she was just the Presidents wife. But, on the other hand that is on their list of her accomplishments. If you say IWR they say she apologized. Seriously, I saw someone or two or three someones say she apologized. But, she didn't just vote for that war, she lobbied for it. If you point out she doubles down on lies when she offers an "apology" they say she said sorry end of story.

We have many years of unfounded attacks from the Republicans to thank for that. They just assume that there couldn't be any criticism that's anything other than right-wing hate.

It's funny how that works almost like an inoculation from any though of actual misdeeds.

Hillary magically turning $1000 into $80,000 in a matter of months in Arkansas in the 1980's with "commodities trading" really happened, and it was obvious fraud. I used to work in the brokerage industry in the 80's and I can tell you how it happened. The broker put in trades without putting an account number on them. When the trades were winners, he put Hillary's account number on them after the fact. When the trades were losers, he put the account number of whoever had agreed to fund the money transfer to Hillary. There were numerous trades attributed to Hillary where her account didn't have enough equity to allow the trades in her account.

Democratic voters who instinctively defended the Clintons on everything during the Bill Clinton administration need to come to grips with what the Clintons are and always have been.

14. I think many feminists destroyed their reputations defending Bill Clinton

Before the Lewinsky scandal, NOW and many feminists talked about how sexual harrassment was about power, that male executives could use their ability to hire and fire and promote and demote to sexually harrass and/or pressure less powerful female subordinates into sexual activity, because the female subordinates were basically powerless and fearful of losing their jobs. But somehow, many feminists went from that position to defending the President of the United States from having sexual relations with a young female White House intern as sexual activity between consenting adults. And many continued to defend Bill Clinton even as Clinton subordinates tried to smear Lewinsky as a nutty stalker.

Here is a link to a 1998 article from Vanity Fair on it.

http://www.vanityfair.com/magazine/1998/05/williams199805

<Okay, class, let’s review: The man in question has been sued for sexual harassment over an episode that allegedly included dropping his trousers to waggle his erect penis at a woman who held a $6.35-an-hour clerical job in the state government over which he presided. Another woman has charged that when she asked him for a job he invited her into his private office, fondled her breasts, and placed her hand on his crotch. A third woman confided to friends that when she was a 21-year-old intern she began an affair with the man—much older, married, and the head of the organization whose lowliest employee she was. Actually, it was less an affair than a service contract, in which she allegedly dashed into his office, when summoned, to perform oral sex on him. After their liaison was revealed, he denied everything, leaving her to be portrayed as a tramp and a liar. Or, in his own words, “that woman.”

Let us not even mention the former lover who was steered to a state job; or the law-enforcement officers who say the man used them to solicit sexual partners for him; or his routine use of staff members, lawyers, and private investigators to tar the reputation of any woman who tries to call him to account for his actions.

Can you find the problems with his behavior? Take your time: these problems are apparently of an order so subtle as to escape the notice of many of the smartest women in America—the writers, lawyers, activists, officeholders, and academics who call themselves feminists.>

Pretending all of Bill Clinton's problems were just Republican witch hunts is to live in denial.

4. It's called Tribalism
Sat Mar 26, 2016, 05:26 AM
Mar 2016

All of us excuse those we see belonging to our group and find excessive fault in groups we don't belong. It's innate in all of our genes. From an evolutionary standpoint, tribalism has helped our species survive. Enter the modern day... Politicians know this and take advantage of it. That's why we have to be careful of the motives of those in power. Especially, those who we see on our side.

The Hillbots see $hillary as a great candidate while we see her as being a corrupt, Establishment figure.

That said, I think our way of seeing it is closer to the reality.

A major incentive to participate in DU was that there were many intelligent, well-educated posters who championed traditional Democratic values, and did so in a logical, calm and well-reasoned manner, sharing their education. No trolls, no 3rd way rationalization of greed and self interest. No glorification of the corporate profit motive. Most of those great posters are gone now. I think of that time period as the golden age of DU.

I joined in 2003 so I did see the Golden Age of DU. I mostly read instead of post simply because somebody already made the point I would've made.

Lately, I've been appalled by the Clinton supporters and the mockery they've made of the main discussion forums. Intelligent debate and well reasoned posts are met with personal attacks or an alert to get it removed. It's become an awful lot like the Free Republic and it's a damn shame.

I hope we have another forum to go to if they decide to purge us.

I try to make my point without pissing people off, Won't Bernie need their votes when he wins?

I know how hard it is to take insults, but sometimes we have to be strong. I curse to my dog (not at, she knows it is not her) while at the computer and move on.
JMHO, no one has to change because of me.

when people in power pay each other off, lie and cheat it feels more like a cartel is running things. Justice and ethics start at the top or they mean nothing.

I've always said, corruption is one thing that DOES trickle down.

I believe in forgiveness too but accountability goes hand in hand with leadership.
