I think I now know why the Soviet bloc countries never had that many people vote.

I knew that the Conservative Democratic party years ago was crooked. But this election cycle has taught me a lot about the modern Democratic party. I now understand why Bernie wasn't R or D. Neither party can be trusted.

Edit to add. How do we know that Bill Clinton was really elected in the primaries back in 92?

Bernie was talking about how "people are angry and frustrated about two parties...dominated by big money..."
I think it was 1988 when he said that. And he was absolutely right. It's not just Citizens United. It goes way back.
If you're within the party system, you have to toe the line at some point and the line is drawn by the moneyed interest. Elizabeth Warren flip-flopped big time on Israel-Palestine issue, and I thought that was very telling. It was almost as if there's only so much you can do as a token liberal in the bought Democratic Party.
On that issue, by the way, while Bernie's not 100% there with me, he sure as hell is more progressive than Warren. And that's precisely because he's not part of that party structure. If he was to answer to party elites, there is no way he could say "we have to friends to the Palestinians, too."
