She sometimes has a coughing spell when talking. This time she wasn't talking.
I saw someone mention perhaps it's a lisinopril cough. A med.

(50,130 posts)...and it is a proper concern just as it is for any other candidate, especially because of her history of blood clots. Some people are concerned about Bernie's health, many are concerned about Joe Biden should he enter the race.

And in the meantime - that candidate that is too old to be President is cruising around the Santa Monica Pier shaking hands, riding merry-go-rounds with the grandkids, stops in at a famous hamburger joint in West Hollywood, and is heading out to San Diego for a GOTV concert tonite.

I also attribute his health to his clear conscience. The man has been true to himself all his life. He sleeps the sleep of the guileless.

(2,461 posts)I was a professional singer and took workshops from time to time as well as doing the routine prof. coach thing.
One interesting workshop led by Anne Mortifee was 'Singing through your chakras'.
From what I remember, and from what I've googled in the last few months since noticing this 'cough', I'm convinced she's having major problems with her 5th chakra. It manifests in coughing and excessive clearing of the throat when one doesn't speak ones truth.
Hey, who am I to diss thousands of years of study
One of hundreds of sites: http://www.chakras.info/throat-chakra/throat-chakra-blockage/
Non-physical signs of blockage can be more prevalent. Among the more commons signs are:
fear of speaking
inability to express thoughts
shyness
inconsistency in speech and actions
social anxiety
inhibited creativity
stubbornness
detachment
For instance, perpetuated blockages that are fairly significant can cause one to become arrogant, deceptive, domineering, or manipulative. On the contrary, energy that flows freely through the throat chakra promotes effective, truthful communication. You are able to find you. You are confident, responsible, and can easily find the right words to express your thoughts.
A blockage of the throat chakra can cause you to become stoic, quiet, and fearful. The imbalance may also create feelings of anxiety, insecurity, and shyness when it comes to self-expression and speaking to others. Public speaking can cause near paralysis when the issue is a blocked fifth chakra.

(13,326 posts)Although estimates vary, 20% or more of patients who receive ACE inhibitors develop a dry cough, sometimes severe enough to require discontinuation of the drug. With few exceptions, ACE inhibitor cough is an apparent class effect that may occur with all ACE inhibitors. Although resolution of the cough after withdrawal of ACE inhibitors may occur within days, it may require weeks. ACE inhibitor cough may be associated with upper respiratory symptoms of rhinitis, and it is probably underappreciated that these drugs may lead to rhinitis. Women, individuals with ACE genotype II, and those of black or Asian ethnicity have been reported to be at increased risk of ACE inhibitor cough.
