They turned a deaf ear to the revolution.

All but assuring that they will be completely blindsided by it when it smashes down their ivory towers. Not led by Sanders, but by millions of hard-working Americans who were fucked over one too many times. And in the end no amount of fascist media or superdelegate support will save them.

They frolicked merrily on the beach, collecting beautiful seashells of all shapes and sizes newly revealed by the retreating waters.
Only a few noticed the low, long and deep roar of the approaching tsunami when it first became audible. By the time it had grown into a huge, horizon-eating behemoth, many had dropped their shells and madly dashed in vain for higher ground. But there were many more who simply stared transfixed, unblinking, and mute at the roiling wall of death that had appeared as if conjured by some long-forgotten black magic. As the end made is final cataclysmic dash, more than one person, and likely several broke the paralysis of their empty tongues to mutter in stark unison their final words: "This can't be happening."
