(31,321 posts)[font color="navy"size="3"face="times new roman"]"I'm asking the DNC, given that, to do everything you can to make this an absolutely fair convention. Make sure that the Sanders team is well represented on the important committees the Platform Committee, the Rules Committee. That's important. If you want to bring people together, they have to feel heard and they have to feel respected and well-treated."
"Should he not be the nominee, when he comes back, he's going to come back having done something that no other senator believed was possible. When he launched his campaign, people anticipated, and I think Bernie Sanders anticipated, that it would have a modest effect at the edge, but not one that necessarily took fire," Merkley said. Sanders' success "definitely should encourage every senator up here to think about why it is what Bernie Sanders says to the public is gaining such following. ...
"We need to capture and understand that sentiment up here on Capitol Hill."

(3,919 posts)but, it is a story and there are neither links nor exact quotes:
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/13/us/politics/bernie-sanders-campaign.html
"That plan became more improbable last week as high-profile Democrats supported Mrs. Clinton. President Obama endorsed her on Thursday, calling her the most qualified candidate ever to seek the White House and imploring Democrats to unite behind her. Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, who had stayed out of the race, also endorsed Mrs. Clinton. Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon, the only senator to endorse Mr. Sanders, told CNN on Friday that he now supports Mrs. Clinton."
here you go:

Washington (CNN)Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley is "supporting" Hillary Clinton for president but stopped short of saying he endorses the presumptive Democratic nominee. -snip- more at link

(4,775 posts)Great group of progressives, i would love to know what was discussed. Hopefully a way to move forward with this movement, it badly needs to morph into something that will outlive this campaign.

(863 posts)I know Jim Hightower a bit from my Texas days when he was Ag. Commisioner. He is very thoughtful and honest. A true Texan in the Ann Richards / Molly Ivins tradition.

We don't know yet, but the Fourth Estate did their corrupt best to make sure it didn't matter.
With so many instances of voter suppression, electioneering, lawbreaking and more, this season should be regarded by future generations as having been stolen.
