So there is a Chomsky thread that is seen by many here as an attack on the democratic party.

Especially considering that the thread and it's recs shows that the majority here want to continue to read these sources?
There are several very right wing posters, one of them trying to justify McCarthyism: Those kind of posters used to be booted as right wing trolls but now they can stay here as long as they support the "presumptive nominee"?

(3,982 posts)It is only recently that what constitutes an "acceptable" source is changing.

(546 posts)Noam Chomsky expressed an opinion. He is entitled to that opinion and others who disagree with him are entitled to express their disagreement. Opinions are not facts. I enjoy reading and commenting on both sides of the debate. Anyone advocating censorship of valid opinions is just wrong.
There was never a time in the 188 year history of the Democratic Party when it didn't have left, center and right factions. That's what it means to be a "Big Tent Party." There are conservative Democrats who are indeed close to liberal/moderate Republicans. There are mainstream, centrist Democrats and there are Progressive Democrats.

(12,471 posts)I was amazed to see so many recs, and so many comments.
I thought it was just something that should be brought up.
They didn't ban it with on of their damn juries, so I guess it's okay to bring up these respected left sources.
That gets my brain going... How can I dis Clinton, without mentioning her, and just have some respected left person say what I wanted to say. If this one didn't get banned, I don't suppose it would.
This is good, even if it is lambasted by the right wingers here.
