DU has been a great place to discuss politics in an open way with other progressives. We have openly discussed history and all manner of politics. What a great education it was!

1. I've been here since 2001

Been one of the best Democrats in my local area and have influenced a lot of local decisions that have impacted many in my community.

Some of the wisdom I used in my locale came from reading the open discussions on DU. It was fantastic to see DU grow and grow and grow.

This place really kept me sane from 2002 through 2007, and even inspired me in 2008.

For years we were all good democrats who could converse on all subject matters. Now many of us are mere troublemakers?

since the early years at age eight or nine at camp and then following all the way through elementary and HS. Got into more trouble than some, I did say constrained though and followed somewhat behind establishment rules, but on the fringe

So at 61 years old when do you say enough is enough, or do we just follow along until we are six feet under?

Note the number of hours that have lapsed since the last OP on the front page.

I have been casually watching those times and over the years it has gone from 1 hour lapse, to sometimes, these days, as much as 10 hours.

In the past the highest I recall is 2 hour lapse.
