Sen. Bernie Sanders office says he had skin cancer removed from cheek

WASHINGTON (AP) – Bernie Sanders’ office says the Vermont senator had a small basal-cell carcinoma removed from his cheek in an outpatient procedure.
Basal-cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer. Sanders’ office says the procedure was completed Thursday and the senator returned to work afterward.
Sanders’ office says he’s later returned to Vermont.
