It should be pointed out that what you see in those top photos is not a gas pump, it is an electric charger. The car is a Tesla, it is entirely battery powered and creates zero emissions. The car not only looks great but is also the best car in the world in terms of engineering.

A bit tricky, I know, but it's the only way I'll get to drive one. Oh well, it's a Toyota for now...best I could come up with.

While that is still by no means cheap, it does make it affordable to some middle class families. Hopefully the price of them will continue to drop so it can get to the level I could afford.

the payment down, it is much more affordable. I know it's coming...and even the knuckledragging of the carbon producers will ultimately shift. I hope it's in my life/driving time.

and his 1% buddies.

Back in the early part of the last century the IWW, the union that couldn't be bought, was sending members across the country to negotiate with people in D.C.

The AFL folks used the same transportation as the business owners. The IWW folks caught trains and hitchhiked. When some members suggested that they should spend more money on their rep's travel, it was pointed out to them that these working people, who wouldn't be caught dead riding in the same luxury as their opponent while their brothers and sisters were dying because of that same business owner's policies.

As it turns out, they negotiated just as well as their fat cat corporate brethren. And with a lot more conviction. In the end it wasn't enough, as more people took a little money to quit fighting. The business owners allied with the government and the AFL against them, jailing and murdering many, and associating many with socialism and communism to hurt them with the public. It did. And when they quit fighting, they lost.

But it was because they quit fighting. Not because they didn't take the corporate money.

I do wish he was riding around in a hand-built recycled S-10 that had the gas motor changed for batteries and an electric motor. That would start a great conversation about why the rest of us can only afford batteries that only take us 40 miles.

Even so...

I'm glad our future President Sanders doesn't have to walk.
