Sen. Bernie Sanders braves the summer heat at fairgrounds Thursday night

WEST BURLINGTON — By the end of his speech, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was drenched in sweat, as were most people packed under the cover of the Livestock Arena.

Sanders spoke for an hour to a packed arena at the Des Moines County fairgrounds as attendees braved the summer heat to hear the 74-year-old firebrand denounce the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision, “the billionaire class” and “incredible greed” on Wall Street.

I caught the very last part and when I tuned in to see Bernie covered in sweat, I felt so bad! There was no podium to lean against and I didn't see any water and Bernie just kept going! He has more energy than most young adults!
