The fact this is 11 point lead in california and not 20-40 point lead In california I take as real progress for bernie.
The poll also shows the memo of only white voters supporting Bernie is flawed.
20% of both black and asian voters In california support Bernie.while 17% of hispanic voters In California support Bernie.
Even In California we are seeing the trend.Bernie rises as campagin goes on.when people see and hear about Bernie more they
like him.

(22,271 posts)This is REALLY good and the first California poll I've seen. This entire state is working to introduce people to Bernie Sanders. I've seen one, ONE event in which Hillary had a tabling event in my area. Sanders? We've had several and all very well attended.
If he can pull within 2 to 3 percentage points he's got California and I think he can.

(14,733 posts)At least in Cali, 23% of voters support Bernie, and 20% of black voters support Bernie.
So while his support is weaker among AA voters than among 'voters' in general, it's actually pretty close to being the same. One might think, indeed, that without all of the constant claims that Bernie and his supporters don't get along with minorities, and the notion that 'where there's smoke there's fire', his support among black voters might indeed be identical to his support among white voters. Ie, that he's 'weak with black voters' mainly because people are constantly telling us that he's 'weak with black voters'.

(3,795 posts)the more they don't like him.
Of course, these people are now on ignore so it's been some time since I've seen their posts to see if they are still spouting off such nonsense.
Bernie's in great shape in California for this point in the primaries.
The more people get to know Bernie (and RESEARCH Bernie), the more support he will get.
I pray for his safety.

(2,968 posts)In fact just the opposite.
As for California poll, I didn't know there was one
out here. As far as I know most people in Washington/pundits etc. don't consider us
relevant to the primary elections because they aren't until June.

(3,795 posts)I was referring to a few prolific posters on DU that most definitely are not members of this group.
It always amazed me that they would claim that people wouldn't like Bernie when they got to know him. I've been following Bernie for a very long time, and it flies in the face of reality.

(4,775 posts)or a typo? Her lead is apparently 16, not 11, maybe change the OP?
I'm in California, there's a lot of Bernie love out here, but the more mainstrea Dems have a solid foundation out here (Obama and Clinton), so it will be difficult to overcome all of that. It's a shamefully late primary again, so at that point it might be more of a relection of the overall race and how each candidate is doing, it's usually over by the time we get to vote.

(80,708 posts)to address, questions that Hillary in particular seems determined to avoid.
The conversation, to date, has been skewed towards the priorities of New Hampshire and Iowa residents- and on those priorities Sanders has done an admirable job of convincing the electorate.
I actually believe that a conversation centered on the priorities of Californians, Sanders would do even BETTER.
