Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumI am following Bernie's campaign closely and am amazed at his energy!
Events and speeches two sometimes three times a day while continuing his Senate responsibilities. A HC supporter remarked several times when Bernie first entered the race that he had been "loafing around Washington for years getting nothing done." Of course I took that poster to task and I wonder what she's thinking of his campaign pace these days. But honestly I mostly like to hang out with my fellow Bernie supporters here in this forum where so much uplifting positive action on DU can be found.
Stay safe, well, and rested Mr. Sanders. Sending light and love your way!

(2,338 posts)Are 87 and 85. And they can run circles around this 53 year old. I wish I knew their secret.

(11,945 posts)that he was in track and field as a young man. He seems very comfortable in his body and on his feet. Not only does he have exceptional energy, but he seems to have exceptional courage and focus, as well. Where he's lacking (from what I've seen) is in musical ability and humor. He'll smile, laugh, and enjoy himself, but he doesn't seem witty or particularly funny. And it was discovered a while back that the sweet man just can't sing. I guess nobody has everything.

Then again, so is Jimmy Carter.

(12,769 posts)just looked at him incredibly and told him that Bernie could run circle around most of us here. His schedule has been incredible, his voice his hoarse from so many speeches and yet he manages to go out and talk to the overflow crowds after speeches. He is an amzing (was going to say incredible but since he is so credible I switched it) and compassionate being. I have always admired him and didn't think my admiration could grow but it has.

(45,251 posts)So much has been made of Sanders age, it stands out to people. He's not that much older than Hillary or Warren, though. Plus, he's looks and sounds a lot more naturally energetic than some of the other candidates on both sides.

(45,251 posts)Silly me. For a few seconds, I thought I was participating somewhere where which facts are actually relevant. Please accept my apologies.
Carry on.
Like you, ALBliberal, I have been awed by Bernie's pace, especially since he doesn't travel in a bubble.

(50,983 posts)I have a number of health issues but I am trying, in a very limited way, to maintain some level of fitness. This Bernie fella, he just blows me away.
When he first started on this campaign I thought, "Bernie, man, pace yourself, we are all depending on you."
Now I understand. I understand my concept of fitness is on a different level than Bernie's.

(2,339 posts)I believe if he had risen no higher than a local or state official he would have served with the same dedication and loyalty.
My admiration for him continues to grow. My kids and other young relatives love him. They say he speaks the truth and they can tell.
