Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumThe Biggest Winner Of The CNN Republican Debate Was Bernie Sanders By: Jason Easley
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders spoke for America when he gave up on the CNN Republican debate and pronounced the entire event, sad.
Here are some of Sen. Sanders best moments live tweeting the debate, according to his campaign:
Rich get richer. Median family income $5k less than in 1999. One of the highest rates of childhood poverty. Any discussion? he asked as the debate droned on. Have you heard anyone use the word poverty yet? 47.7 million Americans living in poverty. No discussion. Still later he tweeted: Waiting, waiting, waiting. Will we hear anything about racial justice, income inequality or making college affordable?
Nearly two hours into the debate, the conversation briefly turned to an important issue: raising the $7.25 hourly minimum wage. The American people overwhelmingly want to raise the minimum wage. Too bad the Republicans dont, Sanders tweeted. He has introduced legislation to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2020.

(6,409 posts)They say the same thing, except they believe Hillary Clinton benefited the most. They might be right. Clinton is polishing her image as the adult in the room, at least compared o the Republicans. She can't make that comparison work against Sanders, and she's counting on not having to do so, but it plays just fine against the Republicans when they spend half the time taking shots a Donald Trump. We're talking personalities, of course, not issues. Clinton benefits more than Sanders because she has this "likability" problem, and the Republicans are showing us they can be more unlikable than any Democrat.

(45,251 posts)I appreciate your persistent and consistent efforts to counterbalance what may seem like excessive enthusiasm for Bernie in this Group. However, I, for one, don't need the Bernie Sanders Group to be fair and balanced, any more than members of the Hillary Group wants to hear the side of the Sanders people in their group. There are other places on the board for that.

(5,400 posts)Let's get our people on stage, together, so they can jointly burn the Republicans for the nonsense they're trying to peddle. We're passing up an opportunity, and while letting them to worm their way into being seen as having rational arguments.
Their dysfunctional approach is on display and we're missing the opportunity to highlight it.

(45,251 posts)If I were Republican, he's the one I'd support, even though he hits the religion issue harder than some of the others (though not as hard as Huckabee).
And Bernie didn't seem to need any help highlighting the dysfunctionality all by himself. I'm good.
