New Hampshire Postal Workers Union Has Just Endorsed Bernie!

Press Release Bernie Sanders

PRESS RELEASE

New Hampshire Postal Workers Endorse Sanders
SEPTEMBER 19, 2015

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The New Hampshire Postal Workers Union on Saturday endorsed Democratic Party presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.

“Bernie Sanders has been a long-time champion of postal workers and postal customers,” said Janice Kelble, the legislative director for the union representing about 1,500 members and retirees in the Granite State.

“It is time for us to stand up and fight for a president we can count on,” she added in remarks to about 200 supporters who turned up for the opening of a new campaign field office.

“I am proud to announce that both the New Hampshire Postal Workers Union and Manchester Area Local have voted to endorse Sen. Sanders as the next president of the United States,” Kelble said as she stood at Sanders’ side and the crowd outside chanted.

In a prepared statement, the union official called Sanders “a forceful advocate for working people” who has fought for paid family medical leave and a livable wage. She praised Sanders for rejecting unfair trade deals that favor special interests. “His focus is always on creating opportunities that lift the middle class and those living in poverty,” she added in a prepared statement.

“The American Postal Workers Union is committed to fighting for decent pay and benefits, a safe workplace and dignity and respect on the job. As affiliates of the AFL-CIO, we also strongly believe in social and economic justice for all working families,” the union leader said.

Yes! They were debating this endorsement a few weeks ago. In fact someone had posted that they had already done so, but I didn't post it then because I couldn't find any other verification.

Bernie has been a huge advocate for the Postal Workers, fighting against the attempts to shut down POs etc.

This is a FANTASTIC Endorsement. Let's hope the National Union will follow their example!

courage to do so also, I think. The larger unions are holding back, but their membership is pushing them and people on Twitter eg, who follow them, keep reminding them who has worked for them, and how disappointed the unions have been in Dems who take their votes for granted, AND their money.

So I think it's kind of like a snowball, first a few, like the Vt Teachers, then the Nurses, which is a National Union, now this and soon I think there will be more and then more.

He is a natural candidate for Unions. And if Hillary is perceived to be supportive of the TPP, or won't come out strongly against it, since the every, single Union in the country is against it, they cannot support her.

I think some of the are waiting for her to state her position on the TPP.

Bernie's otoh, is crystal clear.

one in their best interests.

My mail carrier told me he had earned one federal pension and was on his way to earning one as a mail carrier when Reagan decided no one could collect two federal pensions, even if they had earned both and so all the years my carrier had put in to earn his first pension were just about rendered null and void retroactively.

If the time has been put in, what difference does it make to the Treasury if they mail two checks to one person instead of two people? And how do you live with screwing people retroactively? smh

And that was on top of all the stuff unique to the post office.

about what stole their future, have suffered the consequences of decades of both parties selling out and are not as partisan as their parents and grandparents, according to them.

And they are very actively involved as they realize the power they have as such a large voting bloc, but mostly that the older generation isn't going to do it for them, so entrenched in partisan politics that all that happens with each election is a choice between, we are often told, 'the lesser of two evils'.

In many ways it is going to be up to them. They are, for the most part, driving Bernie's campaign.

They were also for the most part, responsible for the success of Occupy Wall St. That, someone said, 'was the seed' of coming changes, Bernie 'is the fruit'.

I hope there are enough of them to make the necessary changes. They are badly needed.

11. If Bernie wins, whichever group of voters determines the outcome is more than fine with me.

If Bernie does not win, I'm looking first at DWS, the DNC, establishment Democrats, dirty tricks, corrupt establishment media, etc.

This has to the be the most disgusting stuff I've ever seen from the Democratic Party and those enabling it in these endeavors.

and have tried in the past, apparently just didn't have the numbers to do it. With this generation being such a large voting bloc, together maybe, it can be done.

As for the DNC, it is owned, obviously now, by Special Interests, DWS is merely a tool, she clearly isn't moved at all by what the people want.

With Bernie in the WH that will change hopefully, and we will have DNC that is beholden to the people.

If he doesn't, then we have to work on Congressional races, we should be doing that now also, but to the point where no President can get a Third Way/Republican agenda past that Congress.

If he wins, Bernie will need that kind of Congress so it should be a huge part of this election to reject Third Way candidates in favor of Progressives, who we know will not be supported by DWS.
