Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumMy total political focus is on Senator Bernie Sanders, 2016 Democratic primary nominee,
nothing else. That will be the reality until at least Super Tuesday.
Senator Sanders will either win the 2016 Democratic Presidential primary or he won't. Either way, he will have spread to millions of Americans, very clearly and straightforwardly, a message they desperately needed to hear, having been deceived for so long. (I, for one, learned that I am probably a Democratic Socialist and so are more Americans. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12779483 ) Meanwhile, what the Democratic Party chosen to become is also exposing itself. Both things are revolutionary. Any politician who doesn't "get it" as to this paragraph is in for an unpleasant surprise.
I believe Senator Sanders can win. If he doesn't, I will re-assess then. Meanwhile, I'm working and donating to the very best of my ability.
All else is frippery and shiny objects distracting magpies, including early polls.
Beloved, I heartily recommend all the above to anyone who supports Senator Sanders for President.

Supporting Bernie is the moral and ethical thing to do for America and Americans.
Bernie as President would give America some of it's integrity back.

(45,251 posts)if he is elected. (Stephen Lynch is a possible exception: I am tired of hearing Lynch go on RW radio to claim that the next President will be Republican unless Hillary is the nominee.) However, Massachusetts went strongly for Hillary in 2008. So, they may not endorse him.
At this point in time, the candidates are who they are and so are the incumbent Senators.

(45,251 posts)IMO, she should never have been the nominee after her disastrous run against Scott Brown. She did much better running against Baker than she did against Brown, but nothing is ever going to erase her Curt Schilling remark from the collective memory of Red Sox Nation. And that was only one of her epic gaffes.
Massachusetts doesn't feel the brunt of Republican Governors because the legislature can override them easily.

(45,251 posts)I could care less about sports. Still, I know when the damn Red Sox equipment truck leaves Boston to head to Fort Meyers. Why? It's on every local news show that day. That is also how I know Curt Schilling is a Red Sock, not a damn Yankee, ffs. And that the bloody sock he wore when he pitched in the first Series the Sox won since the curse of Ruth is in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. That bit was not only on local news but national.
However, that was not the only jaw dropper of that campaign. When asked if she knew about foreign affairs, she mentioned she had visited her sister in Europe three times. IIRC, that was the only foreign policy cred she offered on her own behalf.

(19,326 posts)Bernie is boldly turning on the lights, for all to see, what a sorry-ass pickle our nation
is in, how thoroughly corrupted DC has become, even within the Democratic Party,
supposedly the 'party of the people'.
Bernie could have finished out his career in the Senate, in relative peace & obscurity,
being largely ignored by the media and often by his colleagues; because he keeps
speaking the damn truth, because that's how he is wired spiritually & emotionally.
But he didn't go quietly into the night. He stood up, and said "hell no. I can't remain
silent, while my country goes down the toilet". He's a man of rare talent and integrity,
and we are so fortunate to have him in this race, win or lose.
I'm always heartened by your posts merrily, and feel honored to be in this fight with
you.

(45,251 posts)I agree with you so much. Bernie says he is running because he thinks the middle class may disappear in another generation unless things change.
Thank you so much for your kind words. Right back at you. We all give each other encouragement and, often, comic relief. I am so in love with the Bernie Group.

OMG Just heard! Boehner will resign.
I may help someone else if I am moved. I just meant I was not going to live or die as polls go up and down.

(17,997 posts)Great news about boehner! I have to find this.
We've never seen anything like this campaign. Not in the last few decades. Certainly not since money/corporations took over elections. So polls don't mean much. Especially prior to the debates. Even tgen, because of the ridiculous schedule, we'll still have to get the word out about the Berninator!
