I'm going to Des Moines, IA from KC today.

We'll be knocking on doors of Democratic voters to see who they support. This is all in preparation for the 1 Feb 2016 caucuses.

The KC group has been assigned Des Moines. Other local Sanders supporter groups from nearby states will be assigned other Iowa towns.

Wish me luck!

But a simple heads up. People in Iowa get VERY tired of this sort of thing.

I went there for Howard Dean in 2004, and learned quickly that voters there were heartily SICK of all the phone calls and door knockings from the candidates. This early in, it's not an issue, but in a couple of months it will be.

I was there for Dick Gephardt in his run and I found Iowans incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and no nonsense about politics. I had never met so many politically astute people in my life.
Hope you have a great time, good luck, and may the Bern be with you!

We knocked on a lot of doors and gathered data on potential Sanders supporters we want to get out to the caucuses in Feb.

What was great about the day: Beautiful weather for walking, beautiful people to work with, a lot of them students from the University of Missouri at Kansas City (UMKC) and to top it off, a talk by author, radio personality and speaker: Jim Hightower.
