Bernie Sanders encourages audience members to share stories (video)

Senator Bernie Sanders had an event at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on Monday.

CBS News campaign embed Kylie Atwood was there. She says it was a pretty quiet college campus audience, until Sanders began encouraging audience members to engage with him and share their personal stories.

He moved through the issues his campaign is highlighting like income inequality and the need to have tuition free college -- and then he would tell those gathered to see him "let's talk about it."

To hear the conversations Sanders had with audience members, and to hear his response to the impersonation of him on Saturday Night Live, watch the video

At a campaign event in Iowa, presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders asked audience members to tell him how issues effect them. And he also touched on his "ample" underwear supply. CBS News campaign embed Kylie Atwood has more.

A candidate that listens. Going past the joking, the audience member's story of how has simply been trying to better his life and pay for college is heartbreaking.
