Another Republican for Bernie.

As I struggled through this incredibly difficult time, the banks that caused this death-spiral of mine all got big government bailouts. Those bailouts didn't replace my retirement savings. They certainly didn't forgive my mortgage or my car loan -- all I got was a colossally reduced credit score, the lowest score I've ever heard of. The bailouts didn't help ANYONE who took a beating the way I did.

But those bailouts DID help out the bank CEOs. They got enormous bonuses from all that taxpayer money.

Meanwhile, I lived in Germany for three years before I was finally hired back in the States. During that time I saw how Germany's national healthcare works. I saw how free college tuition works. I saw how unemployment security and public pensions and paid sick leave and many of the programs Bernie talks about work under well-regulated capitalism.

Well, you know what? My views changed completely. Winner-takes-it-all capitalism nearly destroyed the world. It's a total failure as it creates too many losers. It's time we change to a system that prevents people from falling into bankruptcy when they have unexpected hospital expenses.

We need Bernie Sanders.

class play. That is why The R's and most of the D's and the 1% get along so well. It is just a game they play to see who gets the most before they die. Can they build a family dynasty that will last? Who has the best Falcon or Citation jet? We are just supposed to pay the bills (taxes) to support our 1%. Verizon folks this week are paying so that their CEO can get a big bonus this year.
I wonder if we will have a new dynasty of Hillary being president, Bill as maybe Secretary of State and what about Chelsea as Secretary of the Treasury as she has financial connections now. That would put her in good position to run for President in 4 or 8 years. After all it is all in the family.

As is the case in Washington, things only get done with cooperation.
A bipartisan majority exists and will trump both parties extremes.

Republicans giving high fives to Dems is seen as a sign of weakness to them. I thought the idea was to get them to pass their meaningful legislation. I have a hard time understanding these people.

17. I agree! Repubs are getting the cheating down to a science.

There are tiers of cheating and the Dems are not talking about them enough.

Voter suppression
gerrymandering
UNVERIFIABLE VOTE COUNTING USING ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES WHICH ARE TRIVIALLY EASY TO MALICIOUSLY PROGRAM.

The first two are gradually drawing more fire from Dems. But the last one is almost never even mentioned by Dems much less discussed. Until that happens we'll continue having these inexplicable results, especially in local and state elections.

Bernie Sanders recently got 25% of the Republican vote in Vermont
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/09/18/bernie_sanders_i_got_25_of_the_republican_vote_in_vermont.html

Republicans vote, and take their vote very seriously; and are smart enough to know that if they
support Bernie Sanders, they need to change their registration to "Democrat" in the Primary.

These ^ Republicans for Sanders are NEVER included in ANY polls, as pollsters typically include in their
samples ONLY "likely Democratic voters" i.e. "Democrats who have voted in at least one of the past
two elections".

Republicans, of course, are not the ONLY significant demographic that is totally missing in the Primary
polls, it's also registered "Independents", "Greens" etc. who also tend to be politically savvy enough to
know they need to re-register as a "Democrat" to vote for Bernie in the Primary.

Yet another demographic that supports Sanders in huge numbers are "disaffected" voters who had
completely given up on the American political process, due to it's Tweedle Dee v. Tweedle dumb"
lesser of 2 evils charade to prop-up our 2-headed Oligarchy. These people may perhaps be somewhat
less politically savvy -- "rusty" due to lack of practice -- but they too are "Feeling the Bern" big-time.

Go Bernie Go!!!!

9. There is an undertone of this attitude in every republican I know:

I think Republicans are scared to death that someone might get some taxpayer support and sit on his ass. While that might be true for a few, the majority who receive support are more likely to go back to work because of that support and will pay more in future taxes than they took from the system. It's a net gain for the taxpayers.

Oh noes! Someone might get something they don't deserve or someone might get more than me. The ones who really amaze me are the ones who partake of social programs but vote repub. I know a few of them.

The Republican base is in the same economic boat as the rest of us, but they've been brainwashed into blaming welfare recipients for America's economic ills. They're too blinded by hateful ideology to see they're fighting over scraps instead of uniting with the rest of us to claim our fair and rightful share of the pie.

Unfortunately, that is nowhere near the case. Based on their presidential preferences, I'd say most are absolutely insane and love lies way more than truth.

Fri Oct 30, 2015, 06:21 PM

Clinton thinks that college students shouldn't be pampered and should be taught responsibility and pay off their debts like her friends in the banking industry (whoops, bad example), her friends in the auto industry.
