Which Not-good-enough-Bernie meme have you seen today?

In the past few days, there have been some nasty attempts to strong-arm a number of memes into existence… all without actual substance or support.

Meme 1. Bernie is secretly working with fox news or Rupert Murdoch. Anyone who has even a mote of objectivity and a willingness to endure the fox news website or the website of any other wholly owned subsidiary, will find out very quickly, the Murdoch evil empire has no interest in building up Bernie Sanders. None.

Meme 2. Bernie is a one trick pony. This one’s a little less surprising considering that the hillbots have precious little to attack him with, and so they regularly have to make stuff up. These are always fairly easy to debunk... though if left alone, they can contribute to:

Meme 3. Bernie isn’t experienced enough. This one’s interesting, because for it to be considered legitimate, the substance of that experience must be considered. A walk down memory lane shows that Bernie’s life is filled with taking the hard stances on social issues… namely: being on the right side of the issue, even though the right side was not the popular side. This one tends not to be used as much, but it still creeps up now and then. Hillbots tend to avoid this one since it may open their candidate up to scrutinization… and she often wilts by comparison due to numerous examples of terrible judgment.

There are, of course, many others, but these are the ones I’ve noticed most recently.

More often than not, a simple pointing to facts bursts their meme bubble in a whimpering of shriveled intent. But these memes and attacks are becoming more frequent the closer we get to the Iowa and New Hampshire caucuses. It would be wise to brace for the veritable onslaught of lies and fabrications that will come. All storms pass… we’ll weather this one out too.

1. And don't forget, "Bernie just can't win!"

That's my favorite.

They're trying to build narratives. Because they're desperate.

I love reading their hilarious attempts at narrative building. Like little elves hard at work.

The memes they work so hard to construct give you a window into where the Clinton campaign is vulnerable and needing to attack.

Do you see any of them making fun of O'Malley supporters (O'Malleybros?) or repeatedly posting, "O'Malley can't win and will never win!"? They're having trouble with Sanders. Obviously. Narratives are put out there to counter the positive movements in Bernie's campaign.

Bernie started at .8 percent in Iowa when he launched his campaign. The Iowa race is in single digits. The last reliable poll from Iowa, (Des Moines Register Iowa Poll) had Bernie behind by 9 and that was in late November.

Bernie started with nothing and has built an incredible operation in Iowa and elsewhere. His Iowa crowds are huge, topping 2,500 now. Hillary's crowds numbers are low and she struggles to draw a crowd of 500 in Iowa.

Last night, during the DFA call, Bernie said that his team has indications that the Iowa race has tightened further since November.

I think December was a big month for Bernie in Iowa. He was in the state quite a bit starting mid-month. Then, the bomb dropped when he was frozen out of the VAN database. Iowa supporters galvanized around Bernie. Everyone wanted to know what they could do to help, and the phones at his Iowa field offices were ringing off the hook. I think that single incident was a unifying and powerful moment in the campaign.

4. Meme #3 is the one that puzzles me the most. They claim Bernie doesn't have the experience...

to be president, yet he has been a mayor, a congressman, and a senator for much longer than Hillary has been a senator and Sec of State. The argument that experience = good judgment is also bunk. Bush had executive experience as Governor of Texas, but would you say he had good judgment and made a good president? Hell No! President Obama, most Hillary supporters seem to forget, was bashed constantly for being "inexperienced" during the '08 campaign, yet he had the good judgment to vote against the war in Iraq. Despite my disappointment with Obama for not embracing progressivism as president, I will admit he has been a damn good president when it comes to getting things done despite intense opposition and obstruction from republicans. So their argument about experience making a great president is nonsense.

10. If I see one more post about Hillary's so-called experience, I'm going to lose it.

Her foreign policy experience consists of making a series of bad decisions. Experience like that we don't need.

11. +1. I want the next batch of Justices to favor people over corporations and the security state.

Fat chance of that happening with Hillary.

8. yeah, every accusation they make 1. brings a swarm of good things that he's done and bad

things that she's done, 2. makes the issue into "an issue" and now everyone's talking about it, and 3. opens up the tremendous hypocrisy of neolib-style campaigning where you tell each group that you're their candidate and then

so she raises the issue against someone good on it (spreads FUD among the non-wonks, makes him look like he's defensive on it and just talking about it because he was attacked on it), but quickly people compare positions and then the outrage begins that anyone with such a record could try such a slimeball

take Outside Agitators and Netroots: the talk was how Sanders had flubbed it and that the left hadn't just ignored race but been the main obstacle to getting things done; then there's a wave of Twitter interest, CSPAN videos passed around on Facebook, and people very quickly start digging up not just Clinton's old positions but her loaded language to other potential constituents; then BLM gets expelled and Clinton endorses Rahm
