Bernie Sanders
Related: About this forumAbout that new NBC poll
very convent it comes right on cue on debate day.
when every other poll shows a tightening race they claim she is increasing lead.
big warning-they excluded voters who haven't voted before.don't be surprised if others follow suit.
In 2016 likely voter screens are flawed.
let's ignore all that.if she really is increasing her lead why send her daughter to lie?
why launch desperate attacks?
does this sound like actions of candidate who has nothing to worry about and is increasing lead?
I put another clinton supporter on ignore today for claiming bernie's surge is media creation.Yeah after ignoring for so long they
would try to create surge.

(4,450 posts)She then proceeded to explain to me how opposing Hillary can only mean I have somehow become a misogynist. An this after knowing me for fifty years. This is what the Clinton campaign brings out in people. Divide and conquer, just like Wisconsin's own Scott Walker.

(22,000 posts)I think that is obnoxious and rude to insinuate you are a misogynist based on not voting for a woman. Your sister owes you an apology. Certainly despite the claims otherwise made in a current thread, Clinton supporters on DU have made similar claims.

It is unquestionable that he has done amazingly well. The only polls that matter are the ones where all America can vote. Focus now on getting out the word and the ground game, not on Hillary.

(2,603 posts)Bernie is working a 50 state strategy, not a national popularity contest.
The only polls that matter are the ones the voters actually go to, not the ones over the phone.

(16,916 posts)national polls are virtually worthless in a primary season, and their results were never a factor in Bernie's path to success.

BUT, I started reading " Outsider in the (White) House".
Bernie may or may not win, but I have 100 % confidence in how he is running his campaign.
The entire premise that we live in a plutocracy is THE BIGGEST ISSUE.. Bigger, than civil rights, bigger than health care, than, ISIS, than the environment, bigger than all of it.
BECAUSE all those issues depend on getting rid of the plutocracy so people have a voice. (Sounds naive, doesn't it.) But, slow as I am, I finally put it together, maybe.
If he can get THAT issue out there, everywhere, THEN he can go after the other issues..
Because I would say a HUGE, huge majority of Americans agree with a great majority of his positions, our positions, and have for a long, long time. I've known this for a long time.. But we have had nobody to get out there and yell it from the roof tops.
We MUST win over Hillary Clinton!! THEN, turn Bernie Sanders loose !!
Does that make sense? Sort of?

(6,994 posts)George Stephanopolis was cutting people off with positive things to say about Bernie Sanders on the round table.
It was mentioned that Bernie Sanders could win IA and NH then George "well we will see how the debate goes in SC"
Then he said "she has SC sewed up"...That was squashed when somemone said (Congressman. from Minn) but wait Nev is before SC and if Bernie wins all three Hillary is in trouble just as George said "lets move on to Republicans)
Hillary will no doubt tell her lie again about Bernie's Healthcare plan at the debate, just as she did this morning. But Bernie will be able to immediately defend his paln tonight.
Keep in mind the Clinton campaign along with her supporters are nervous and pissed off because this was suppose to be a cake walk for her. This was suppose to be over by now.
Now they are wondering if this could be 2008 all over again.
Hillary and her campaign has made two blunders within the last few days,.
1 The lie about Bernie's Healthcare plan with Chelsea leading the way with that huge lie.
2. Demanding Bernie Sanders Health records when Hillary herself has a history of blood clots and fainting spells.

(3,795 posts)She has given Bernie PLENTY of material to work with in a fair way ON THE ISSUES. That is NOT going negative.
national polls are ilrelvent.it's states that matter.
Notice how clinton people keep ignoring neveda is next after NH.I wonder why
I have said all along on SC 1:Let's see how SC goes after Iowa and NH and 2:I think Clinton is probally likely to win SC but may
not be as big as they think it will be
the big tell is not the polls but the clintons lying and desperate attacks on bernie.that shows where they think this race is at.

(2,352 posts)Trying to steal primaries is way too complicated and would involve way too many people...and a lot of those people don't like her. It would be sure to leak.
The truth and Hillary are estranged, so that's out.
The only thing left to them is lying. And getting other people to lie and cut off conversations that contradict the lie. Trying to channel the US people. It's never worked since Reagan, and that was a lesson to the People. Most of his support is dead now, anyway.
When her bought and paid for start disappearing, then she might concede. The volunteers might stick for a while, but why? For a flawed candidate, JUST because she's female? That's absurd.
We just need patience and perseverance, because facts are with us.

(1,268 posts)I worry that DWS could pull a "Howard Dean" in which they swarm Iowa/New Hampshire voters with a robo-call at 2 AM claiming to be Bernie. And from what I've seen and read here DWS would be capable of pulling a disgusting tactic like that. I hope Bernie's campaign HQ has a heads up on this possibility. But how do you contact their campaign? Haven't found a contact link yet.

(5,066 posts)we hear nothing from MSM anymore on nevada.it's always SC.
from twitter i learned andrea Mitchell called into tweety's show and said dems are worried 2016 is turning into 1972 in the primary
of course tweety tries to say Bernie is a sure general election loser but she says bernie could win iowa,NH,and Nevada.and she
sre isn't saying it because she likes bernie.Alan grennspan's wife probally doesn't like bernie schooled him In congressional hearings.

(3,795 posts)Which is ridiculous since neither Hillary nor Bernie will win SC.
I believe Bernie has a great shot at Nevada. I fully expect him to do MUCH better in the actual results than polls indicate because they can't steal caucus votes quite so easily.
I expect Bernie to do much better than polling in Iowa and Nevada and for his results to be worse in New Hamsphire than polling indicates. And, there is a reason for that.

Many, many, many organizations that are DIRECTLY connected to "business as usual!" As I said, until I see that these polls actually CAN or ARE reflecting the truth after people vote, just not depending on ANY poll data. On either side.
It's votes that count... and some will show up very soon!

(60,071 posts)No votes have been cast, so let's see how things stand after Iowa. Let's see if Bernie can show strength in the south. That is Hillary's "firewall."
We might see people voting for the "devil they know", instead of voting for someone not as well known. Name recognition counts for a lot.
For me, I like both and will vote for The Dem candidate, because either one will serve our nation well.
Remember, Hil or Bern will be choosing Supreme court justices. Imagine who would be Cruz's choice or Trump's choice.
Vote Democratic, no matter who tops the ticket. The stakes are too high to have a Plutocrat or Dominionist in the oval office. We don't need anymore Scalia's on the bench.

(13,058 posts)and caucus states that matter at this point, not national polls, and in those polls Bernie is doing well.
Babel_17
(5,400 posts)Lol, and when they poll at the country club, they forget the workers can vote, or that if asked they might just be "yessing" them. You can't just dismiss younger voters, and those you can't easily reach, in a meaningful poll of such an important election.
All polling forces a response. Clinton is much more well known than Sanders. She'll be the likely pick of people who don't hate her, but don't know all that much about Sanders.
The polling is still much about name recognition, at this early stage. Which is not to say that the Sanders campaign doesn't need to get its message out, and become known. The good news is that Sanders doesn't have Clinton's incredibly bad negative numbers. And going by how people in Iowa have reacted to him, when people do learn about him, his negatives don't go up.
That's very promising in terms of the Sanders campaign extending itself as it goes forward.
