Pete Buttigieg met with Hillary Clinton this week

WASHINGTON — South Bend, Ind. Mayor Pete Buttigieg met with 2016 Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton this week in New York, sources confirm to NBC News.

A Buttigieg spokesman says the meeting took place Monday while Buttigieg was in New York for lunch with Al Sharpton and taping of The Daily Show. A Clinton aide also confirmed that they met, though neither side had an official statement about the meeting.

It's unclear what was discussed during the Monday meeting.

Oh Noes. Pete is an empty suit establishment hack. There goes the neighbor hood

who have always been a mainstay of Dem funds. Beyond that, I don’t know if his fundraising has been more adventurous than Biden’s or Kamala’s.

I’m concerned about it. I don’t think Pete’s in over his head but it’s worth watching.

It could be that since he would be in NY, he asked if she'd take a meeting with him, and she graciously agreed? Maybe she gave him some tips, or ????

14. It's impressive that Pete's gathering as much wisdom about national political strategy as he can!

I keep reading that he lacks experience -- although I don't think that's a valid criticism, since bright people can learn very quickly from others who have experience -- and it makes sense that he's going to listen to Hillary on a wide variety of topics. After all, in spite of EVERYTHING that went on during her 2016 campaign, she comfortably won the popular vote.

In the comments of others Pete's met with, a common theme is that he listens a lot. He's listening, and absorbing and growing as a serious candidate. And -- in spite of the wishful thinking of some folks -- it appears as if his sights are strongly focused on 2020.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden
