(5,507 posts)This seems to be a thing now where double digits of people run for President. It happened to the Republicans in 2016 and now here in 2020.
I can't help but believe that it is about excess money in politics. There is just so much cash floating around that it is causing candidate inflation. I don't get it.
I just hope we do a better job of getting through the weeds to select a good candidate. Clearly Trump was helped by the mass of people in 2016.

(13,386 posts)Some of these candidates are running in hopes of boosting their profiles. They know they have zero chance of standing out in the crowd. Most have very little fundraising, policy ideas or name recognition. They surely dont expect to win the nomination. They are merely seeking a higher profile.
