The Daily Show: Why Are Black Women Voters Leaning Toward Joe Biden?

Dulcé Sloan floats a theory about why black women seem to be supporting Joe Biden despite the diverse spread of candidates on the Democrats’ side.

By the time that Brian Williams comes on, I just can't take one more syllable of gut wrenching Trump news. And I rarely even manage to catch the whole MSNBC lineup. I usually watch Trevor, Colbert, then Seth Meyers - and post the monologues when they're available. They also share the news, but in a way that's much easier to deal with! And I know that I'm not alone in feeling this way, so I started posting them on DU for those that aren't up late - or rely on DU for their news. The comedians help keep me sane, so I try to pay it forward...

Not everyone follows the campaigns like those of us on DU - They just want to get rid of Trump! And of course that's what the rest of us want, too! I honestly don't understand why he hasn't been run out of town on a rail! I keep thinking of the "scandals" that plagued former presidents - Gerald Ford was clumsy. Jimmy Carter had that incident with the rabbit. George HW Bush didn't know the price of a loaf of bread! And of course Barack Obama wore that tan suit!

Jimmy Carter promised to never tell a lie - and the press was all over every single statement he every made. Trump tells blatant lies in broad daylight every time he opens his mouth - and all the press does is report on the record number!

Trump and his outlandish antics meant ratings, so they started covering every ridiculous and offensive statement - and people tuned in, the media equivalent of watching a train wreck. If there was anyone else running against him, you'd never have known it. They got moved to the bottom of the screen or ignored altogether.

Back then, I couldn't take it anymore than I can now. I started watching anything else, discovered a lot of channels that carry some really old shows. Archie Bunker at least had a much more likable family, LOL. I figured I'd tune back in to the news after the election was over - when I'd never have to see or hear Trump again!

So I agree that the media created this monster. And it's still unrelenting. If there's important world news, an earthquake, flood, international incident, you'd never know it - because Trump managed to attack, offend or say something else that's too ignorant to be believed, so we have to know about it. These really are unprecedented times.

" Sen. Hillary Clinton's lead over Sen. Barack Obama, her chief rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, is growing among African-American voters who are registered Democrats, and particularly among black women, a poll said Wednesday.

Sen. Hillary Clinton is the top choice of African-American Democrats, a new poll suggests.

Among black registered Democrats overall, Clinton had a 57 percent to 33 percent lead over Obama.....

The former first lady's strongest support among blacks came from black women, 68 percent of whom identified her as their likely choice, versus 25 percent who cited Obama, the senator from Illinois who is African-American. "
