'Building support and rising': 2020 Democrat Elizabeth Warren surges on far-left agenda

Her jump from fifth to third place was recorded in three national surveys released this week. The biggest surge for Ms. Warren was in a Quinnipiac University poll in which she received 12% support, up 8 percentage points from the same poll a month earlier.

In all three polls, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden led the race, with Sen. Bernard Sanders of Vermont a distant second.

Ms. Warren’s rise was less dramatic in the other two polls. She advanced roughly 2 percentage points in the Morning Consult and the CNN polls, but it was enough to jump into third place with 9% and 8%, respectively.

https://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2019/may/2/elizabeth-warren-2020-democrat-surges-far-left-age/

MSNBC is talking about her surge! I have met her and listened to her speak. She is a petite woman that speaks with a roar. She is bright and articulate and has some great, well thought out plans to bring us forward. She persisted, you bet she did, and will continue to do so.

MA is very proud of our Senior Senator, she is a true progressive

That is my Senator.

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

Speaking at a staff retreat of the SCLC in 1966, King said that “something is wrong … with capitalism” and “there must be a better distribution of wealth” in the country. “Maybe,” he suggested, “America must move toward a democratic socialism.”

http://inthesetimes.com/article/20839/martin-luther-king-jr-day-socialism-capitalism

Firstly, George Orwell was definitely a democratic socialist. ... In fact, socialism as Orwell understood it, stood for all the values – democracy, liberty, equality – that Soviet Communism rejected. Orwell believed that only a truly democratic Socialist regime would support liberty.

I follow a lot of Labour Party people they all seem to hate Tories and defend Jeremy Corbyn. There is a lot of calling out of Islamaphobia in the conservative parties including calling out support for the Saudi Arabia regime. They have a lot of similar issues and they seem to be on the same side of Progressives on the issues which they seem to care more about than our left party members.

All I know is he took a Labour Party from dead in the water and out performed expectations while surviving challenges to his leadership.

Ms. Pelosi — the de facto head of the Democratic Party until a presidential nominee is selected in 2020 — offered Democrats her “coldblooded” plan for decisively ridding themselves of Mr. Trump: Do not get dragged into a protracted impeachment bid that will ultimately get crushed in the Republican-controlled Senate, and do not risk alienating the moderate voters who flocked to the party in 2018 by drifting too far to the left. “Own the center left, own the mainstream,” Ms. Pelosi, 79, said.

Still not sure where we fit in because we were born in 81 and 82. But let me tell you, our student loan debt is crippling. Between the 2 of us we make about 80 per year. First of all she is a minister so there is that. But I also am working for way under what I am worth, not but choice bit thats whay I could find. We literally cannot afford our loans. We are both working to get out of default, buy even if we do, then what? We are stuck with 500 dollar payments per month that we really can't afford? Per person? How does anyone in my generation get ahead? We can't. If someone would help erase loan debt we could buy a house. Get better jobs. Hopefully live like out parents did. It's so damb infuriating.

but ‘capitalism without rules is theft’.

The difference between Warren and Sanders is that Elizabeth wants to reform capitalism, not replace it.

A proven means of securing national prosperity while protecting personal freedoms.— when properly controlled.

Versus try-try-again in the kind of extreme ideological experiment that has failed in every nation that has attempted it, and stripped people of rights and freedoms important to them in the process.

Government can take control of industry and curtail freedoms for a short period of of time, but by 1945, even with the war still in progress, the strain was showing. By 1946 people wanted the shackles off, and made the mistake of electing the 'do nothing’ Republican Congress.

Government ownership and control of industry, including service industries is ‘unAmerican’. I don’t use that word very often, but in this case it fits.

he's too vague on too much and is more a Social Democrat than a Democratic Socialist. Her ideas on a wealth tax, a tax on reported profits in companies, and requiring companies to have worker representatives on their boards seems much further left than Sanders is. I think she's smart enough to claim capitalism while undermining it from within.
