In a long email promising to undo President Trumps actions if elected, the Sanders Campaign Manager Faiz Shakir revealed that the average donation to the Vermont senators operation has been cut in half.
Im about to ask you to make a contribution, and I hope that it is clear why. But first, I want to be up front with you that our average contribution which used to be $27 has been almost half that in the last couple weeks. Its OK for now, but we would really like to see if you can dig a little deeper if youre able to, he wrote.
The email seeks a donation of $3, though it also includes amounts of $27-$1,000 on the donor page.

In his memo, Shakir rejected that and said only Sanders could both beat Trump and reverse his actions in office.
Were not going to be afraid to call out parts of the establishment that think what were doing is too radical. We know that Donald Trump is not just an aberration he is a logical conclusion of a corrupt political system that has left so many people so far behind, said Shakir.
If all we do in this moment is try to turn back the clock to a pre-Donald Trump time in Washington, D.C., we will have failed. That is simply not good enough. And we will make clear both during this campaign, and after we win during the fight to implement our agenda, that it is time for a new way of thinking, he added.

(67,782 posts)....that's not the average PER contributor! For example, there's one contributor who has already maxed out at $2800, but he did it in 60 separate contributions. So, on the surface the "average contribution" is $46, but in fact that person is the dreaded BIG DONOR!
There's also a contributor who has made 129 separate contributions keeping her "average contribution" only $4.94, another made 112 contributions "averaging" a mere $1.10. The more these multiples of tiny contributions are made, the lower the "average"!
That's how they keep the "average contribution" down.
And people fall for this.

That "new way of thinking" is going back to the '60s.

(42,862 posts)It's offensive! He's slamming Obama (again) in some lame attempt to slam Biden. And in the end it's yet another smear of the Obama years AND the Democratic party.
What good purpose does that serve?

(42,862 posts)If I recall correctly, BS was calling for Obama to be primaried. Why would anyone want to weaken and diminish his 2nd term by doing that? What good purpose would it serve? Why not spend all that energy (negativity) trying to weaken and divide and defeat the GOP?

I also got one from Bernie about SuperPacs.
But not the one above. There must be very targeted emails.
In any case, I donated again.
I also got three from Warrens campaign asking for money to keep her fighting. Gave to her as well.

(10,811 posts)BEFORE Joe Biden officially entered the race, the whole touchy-feely brouhaha, the 'but joe has all this baggage from 20, 30 years ago.'
And you know what? Voters do not care about the dredging up of old news. They care about kicking Trump and his enablers to the curb and think Joe Biden has the best shot to do that. Because getting 30% of the vote and hoping for a brokered convention is a losing strategy, Senator Sanders. And the word 'socialism' still carries a taint in the US whether you like it or not. Which is exactly why Nancy Pelosi has warned us: support the center left mainstream for the win.

It's a status quo fundraising tactic by politicians. Certainly not revolutionary.
