1) Joe Biden. The polls suggest it's Joe Biden's world and we're just living in it.
2) Mayor Pete- Needs a strong IA finish to be the alternative to Biden
3) Kamala Harris- Pantsing William Barr raises her profile. Likely beneficiary if Biden stumbles
4) Elizabeth Warren - Running a policy laden campaign
5) Bernie Sanders- Is finding out his support was more anti-Hillary than pro him.
6) Beto- Just lurking and working
*It seems every Democratic primary voter is or his or her own personal pundit and their punditry informs them Biden has the best chance of beating Trump. As long as that belief is not shaken Biden is in a very strong position

(5,969 posts)Biden is in a very strong position right now but I'm sure it will get closer. Much can change in a year, some on that list might not even make it to the first primary. But I think Harris and either one of Beto or Pete will become strong contenders or could even win it in the end.

(10,828 posts)Beto--Just lurking and working.
That pretty much sums it up because working the circuit--everywhere--appears to be O'Rourke's main strategy. Have to give it to the man, he is tireless and dedicated in getting his name and message out there. All the grueling work and miles racked up in his truck might pay-off in the end. You never know.
I don't think we've heard the last from Beto O'Rourke. I hope not because O'Rourke is one of those rare birds you don't see fly by very often. But when you watch them, hear them? You wish they'd come around more often to stir the blood, give people hope. Originally, I thought O'Rourke was all hat, no cattle. But I've changed my mind on that. He may not win it but I hope there's a place for him somewhere. Because the gift he has to inspire and to draw people in shouldn't be wasted.

(2,113 posts)But for those of us watching his live streams and seeing how people respond to him...he is the one to watch. He is brilliant in how he is campaigning. He learns all he can about the towns he goes to and he is able to have a genuine conversation with those local voters about things that matter to them most. He is really selling his policies and positions by making them apply to local issues. He already has an army of volunteers out canvassing all across the country. He's going to seemingly come out of nowhere over the next month or two but it won't be a surprise at all to anyone really watching him.

Right now Biden is getting over 50% of the media coverage, more than all other candidates combined.
That will start changing when the debates start coming and the media decides to start pushing yet another narrative for ratings.

(395 posts)Here is my rankings (momentum). This is my personal option. I can explain my reason of my ranking selection, but I'm sure most will not care or listen.
1) Biden (up)
2) Bernie (down)
3) Pete (down)
4) Warren (up)
5) Harris (even)
6) Beto (slightly up)
I might actually switch #3 and 4 soon.
