Pete Buttigieg announces 4 staff hires in Iowa as part of new state operations

McPhillips comes to the Iowa operations after serving on several political campaigns, including being campaign manager for Andrew Gillum during his Democratic primary for Florida governor.

Halle, who previously worked for Washington State U.S. Rep. Adam Smith, most recently served in communications for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America.

Throop recently served as the Iowa regional director for Reason to Believe PAC, a federal political action committee launched by aides of former Democratic Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick.

The campaign said Goldstein, who previously worked for the Obama administration, has experienced field organizing experience in Iowa, Florida and Ohio.

Buttigieg's campaign said it plans to make additional staff hires in Iowa.

Pete will shock the naysayers on caucus day evening. I have a lot of confidence in the good people of Iowa.

Now I could see if Mayor Pete was the Dem Prez candidate for him to choose Andrew Gillum as his VP. Not that I'm endorsing that pair but we have a year and it's fun to speculate about all the combinations.

As far as experience goes, this matters way more than the population of a particular city.
