(3,256 posts)it would be appropriate. Torches is a bit too ambitious.

(42,862 posts)I'm not seeing "torches". I see mild criticism, but no "burn" and no "torching". In fact... what BS is saying is the same thing that MANY OTHER politicians and pundits and bloggers and message-board enthusiasts have been saying. It's not new. It's not unique.
The criticism is true, but hardly unique. It's unclear to me why BS should be singled out for such high praise and hyperbole for saying something fairly ordinary and obvious.

(58,355 posts)contending that Mueller's report exonerates him, one would think Trump should be eager for Mueller to testify.
Bernie's criticism in telling Trump that he's not a dictator draws a stark line should Trump try to stop Mueller from testifying, timing is everything.

Oh dear!
No it's not. There's nothing special about BS saying the same thing that everyone else is saying and that everyone else already knows and has been saying all along.

(58,355 posts)I believe Bernie and the other Democrats that have held off on calling for impeachment have done so because they wanted public testimony from a host of witnesses principally Mueller.
If Trump tries to stop Mueller from testifying, they will have no recourse but to join those Democrats already calling for impeachment and if all this happens, the Republicans will not only have no grounds to oppose but will pay a most heavy political price for it in 2020.
Bernie's admonishment to Trump was a shot across the bow.

(67,782 posts)....it became so obvious even to them that they couldn't hold out against impeachment. That's why Alexander Haig, Barry Goldwater and other prominent republicans went to see Nixon and all but convince him to resign. trump won't resign, but hopefully most republicans put country over party and vote to impeach and convict.

(58,355 posts)I believe it's all but certain, not necessarily because the Republicans gain nobility in putting country over party but more because they will be putting their own political survival at risk if they don't.
