"SNIP....

Rev. Al Sharpton told the Daily Mail that he found Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D) “more impressive” than he expected and expressed confidence that the U.S. would someday elect a gay president.

Said Shelton: “I was impressed that he was pretty certain what he stood for and what he didn’t. I did not feel he was patronizing. He said things that he knew I may disagree with, and he was firm on things that he and I may agree with.”

He added: “The most impressive thing about him is he seems comfortable in his own skin. You meet a lot of political people that you feel they’re insecure or trying to mold themselves to what they think you like. He seems to be who he is. And I think that’s impressive and refreshing.”

....SNIP"

primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

I'm impressed by Pete, too. Is he experienced enough? I don't know.

8 years as an executive overseeing a far larger group of employees and staff and a larger budget than any Senator or Representative does. South Bend has a strong mayor system so the buck really did stop with him. He also had massive interfacing with the Federal and State governments as well, plus dealt with multivariate social, economic and public relations issues. Pete can scale it up just fine, and the POTUS also has a truly insane amount of support staff, so it is the big picture that matters, and he is so, so gifted in the big picture department.

My question was really rhetorical, as I mused over it. But the information is very welcome! Thanks.

Big picture - that matters a lot for a President, IMO. It's one of those executive criteria things.
