Democratic Primaries
Related: About this forumLiberals attack Biden, seeking to blunt his momentum
"Progressives are taking shots at Joe Biden, seeking to blunt the former vice presidents rise in polls by arguing he is too conservative to be the party's presidential nominee.
The criticism has come from rivals to Biden on the campaign trail as well as liberal groups seeking to put a dent into his poll numbers.
They are casting Biden as an establishment figure out of touch with the grass roots of his party, highlighting his work on a Clinton-era crime bill and the Iraq War, among other issues.
The criticism suggests some angst on the part of progressives, who fear Biden might beat out candidates such as Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), who have more liberal voting records than the former vice president."

(4,187 posts)The only reason anyone would suggest such a ticket is to appease women. We are not dumb. If Harris is not the nominee, the AG's spot would be better for her than the almost-completely powerless position of VP. (As I posted elsewhere, if a woman is VP and the president dies so she ends up becoming president, she would still have very little power because, not having been elected directly, she would not have any mandate. And, not having been the people's first choice, she would have a hard time winning the presidency in the subsequent election. The VP spot is better for someone who currently has less power than Harris, someone like O'Rourke, Buttigieg, or Inslee.)

We're SUPER-DIVIDED, you see?!?
And that's why, when all the GOP's dirty tricks, voter suppression, Russian interference result in another EC victory with Popular Vote loss ... it'll be all our own fault cause we didn't 'unify' properly.

(10,828 posts)refers to Progressives in the vein of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Puts a different slant on the material if you ask me. Joe Biden is a Liberal as am I, as was Hillary Clinton.
Or are we mushing all these political designations into one big pile now???
Ahhhh. Now I see. This piece was published and headlined at The Hill, not a Democratic-friendly site.
