Buttigieg: 'Can't imagine' God sent Trump to the White House

Buttigieg: 'Can't imagine' God sent Trump to the White House

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg said he "can't imagine" that God sent President Trump to the White House.

"I think it's also important that we stop seeing religion used as a kind-of cudgel, as if God belonged to a political party," the South Bend, Ind., mayor told "Today."

"And if he did, I can't imagine it would be the one that sent the current president into the White House," added Buttigieg, who has been outspoken about his Episcopalian faith on the campaign trail.

His remarks echo a statement during a CNN town hall in which he asserted that God does not have a political party.

Men who did much worse things than Trump has ever done got his support and his blessings. That's what the stories say.

The ONLY reason any of these GOP azzhats bring up God and DT in the same sentence is to make themselves more comfortable with the fact that they have a thrice married, cheated on all three, father of 5, paid off porn stars, bankrupted numerous times, conspired with the Russians to be 'elected' to be President, as 'their' pResident. What's the saying? If you repeat a lie often enough, it begins to sound more and more like the truth? Maybe they're all just saying this to comfort themselves.

23 And he went up from thence unto Bethel: and as he was going up by the way, there came forth little children out of the city, and mocked him, and said unto him, Go up, thou bald head; go up, thou bald head. 24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them. 25 And he went from thence to mount Carmel, and from thence he returned to Samaria.
