You know I like Joe but we need to show proper respect for the "fresh face" theory.

By the fresh face theory I mean every time we ran a fresh face in the modern era we won and when we didn't run a fresh face we usually lost. In fact the only establishment Democrat to be elected president in the last sixty years was LBJ and he only became president upon John Kennedy's martyrdom. Jimmy Carter. Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama were all fresh faces and aspirational figures.

But we live in unusual times. Americans might want a steady hand after the craziness of Trump. That's Joe Biden's calling card.

The primaries will sort all this out, i guess...

If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for:
Joe Biden

A fresh face can be a steadying hand, like your example of Obama. mobeau69 May 2019 #1

I don't necessarily like all of those "fresh faces" but I do think there is a political reality that the previous generation needs to get a clue earlier than later that time has passed them by and it is time for the next generation to "take over". Each generation gets about 20 years or so and then they need to realize that there is a whole generation coming up behind them that is "ready' too. I'm seeing in professionally where the next generation is ready and eager to begin to lead. None the less, since a career is usually in the 30+ year category there is a tendency for the old folks to think it is "their turn". What they don't realize is when it was "their turn", they were passed over by others in their generation. Now, it's time to realize that their turn has passed.

We are in such a bad situation TRUMP DISEASE...... The one hope that republicans have is that we nominate one of the new dem breeds who are terrific, but will be branded Socialists by Republicans.. Their ideas are great but we need to pull every vote we can in this next election.. Biden is the one.. An old tough guy who knows how to handle Trump!
