Booker addresses grads at Southern New Hampshire University commencement
MANCHESTER, N.H. Democratic presidential candidate Cory Booker's message to Southern New Hampshire University graduates on Sunday was to enjoy the big moments in life but know there is value in how you treat others every day.
What I wanted them to really hear from me about is how important and how powerful the small moments are of kindness, of decency, of grace at a time that our country really needs a revival of civic grace, said Booker, who served as commencement speaker.
The New Jersey senator also talked about learning from failure. He said he's always regretted losing touch with a young man in his neighborhood who was ultimately shot and killed.
So right now in this campaign, I'm running for president of the United States. But I make sure I'm texting with my mentees in Newark, because after that I decided I was going to help as many young boys as I could, having real relationships with them, he said.
