The former vice president would bring deep relationships and heavyweight credentials to a 2020 Democratic field lacking in national security experience.
By DANIEL LIPPMAN 03/20/2019 05:04 AM EDT
When Joe Biden attended the annual Munich Security Conference last month, the wonky foreign policy confab promised an escape from the nonstop speculation back home about the former vice presidents political plans.
Instead, Bidens 2020 intentions were the talk of the conference.
When Armenian President Armen Sarkissian ran into him in a hallway, a TV camera captured him asking Biden: Are you going to run? (Biden whispered an inaudible answer.)
And in several conversations with European leaders in Munich, Biden heard a repeated refrain, according to a conference attendee familiar with the conversations: The world needs you.
Citing Bidens long foreign policy track record and longtime commitment to the trans-Atlantic alliance, some of the leaders echoing views from across the continent told Biden that his return to the White House would be a sure way to restore western alliances that President Donald Trump has dramatically fractured.

(83,647 posts)There is so much filth left by the last GOP admin that it takes a whole term to even begin to right the wrongs. It happened to Obama with an economy that was on it's last legs as we were near a great depression, from those 'fiscal conservatives' that actually spend like a drunken sailor. He was criticized for not doing anything fast enough. It will happen to our next Dem President. Fact is, you do abandon a party once elected, you stand and fight alongside them. Why? Because it is for all our futures.

(5,409 posts)When elected, they crash the economy and all civil norms for "tax cuts" ("it's your money) and impede science, womens rights, LGBT rights, NA rights, human rights, you-name-it rights, until people wake up and realize the Repukes constituency consists of the 0.0001% of the population, i.e., the "billionaires", THEN, AND ONLY THEN, the people elect DEMOCRATS to FIX.THE.PROBLEM.
Unfortunately, the fucking RUBES who infest our society have the memory of fleas, and fall for the REPUKE lie about how Dems are taking away their buy-bulls or guns, and then vote EN MASSE for the Repukes again. And the cycle starts all over again.
Unfortunately, the cumulative effect of this strategy over time diminishes Democratic influence over the populace. Has anybody talked about UNIONS and the Middle class? No. Corporate takeover of the media (Media owned by the OLIGARCHS) pushes the 0.0001% narrative. No discussion of unions, working class, women, native Americans, the poor, wealth inequality, the environment, Global Waring...you name it.
AND THE FUCKING RUBES LAP IT UP. GAYS, FUCKING GUNS AND FUCKING GOD.
DOTURD will probably win in 2020 because of MOTHERFUCKING IMBECILIC MOTHERFUCKING AMERICAN MORONS LIKE THIS:

(10,823 posts)Biden's foreign policy experience. That experience and relationships built over many years will be critical in mending the rift with our allies. The Western Alliance is crucial in defending democracies, here and abroad, but also critical for global policy like Climate Change, an existential threat. We must put this back together again for everyone's sake. So, I'm not surprised by this sentiment from world leaders.
Other candidates can talk the talk. But Biden has walked the walk. In troubled times, a seasoned hand is invaluable.

(2,190 posts)We're going to need someone with a lot of credibility to repair our relationships with other world leaders.
I also thought he'd make a great person to encourage people that working for the government can be a noble profession again.
Of course, I'll vote for him if he's our candidate.

(42,862 posts)World leaders are correct. Biden will be our party's nominee. Everyone else is just auditioning for the VP slot. All but three would be an excellent choice for Biden. Two probably want it, but won't be offered it. The final one wouldn't take it even if it was offered to him (or her ) so I guess we're safe in that regard.
President Biden. President Biden. PRESIDENT BIDEN. (Get used to saying it!)

(11,686 posts)I suggest they get all of their top computer people together and seriously work at keepung our elections as clean as possible. Other countries have helped the GOP fuck this country over why can't the countries who want Biden help keep them from fucking us again.
If the GOP does not have a problem with cheating the vote themselves then they should have no problem with the Democrats keeping them from cheating the vote.
