(16,372 posts)I noticed very few of the arm flinging movements that could distract from what he says.

(10,123 posts)I like him.
He needs to gear down on the machine gun delivery.
It shows he's got energy but it's so rapid, it is a challenge to absorb and he loses nuances of language like emphasis.
I'm still intrigued with his candidacy and need to learn more ...

(2,113 posts)He'll be on The View today as well. I was watching CNN this morning and got the urge to throat punch all of them...as usual minimizing Beto and implying that his poll numbers aren't related to lack of national media. Beto inspires youth voters SO MUCH that they actually turned out and voted at an increase of 500%. He can do that on a national level too, which means Democrats win not just the White House but down ticket everywhere. He would have won Texas if not for gerrymandering. We can't put an end to gerrymandering without NEW voters helping with those down ticket races. It's a miracle he got as close as he did...more votes than ANY Democrat EVER before.

(9,580 posts)He seemed uncomfortable to me. If I compare him to Mayor Pete's interview style, he has a long way to go. He's still very hyperactive. I forgot which movie it was, where someone said, "She makes coffee nervous." Applies here, I think.

(2,113 posts)I never volunteer for candidates. When I hear Beto talk I feel inspired to go knock on doors. High energy motivates people to get off their butts and volunteer. That's why Texas youth turnout was up 500% in 2018. If not for gerrymandering he would have won that race. If the youth turnout goes up 500% on a national level it would cause the biggest blue tsunami in history all across the country with record down level wins. It would go a long way to counter the damage Trump has done.

(27,995 posts)I agree with what Beto says, but his extra wordy, hyper delivery is not my style. When I think of an ideal president I want someone who has a much more calm and thoughtful vibe. Like our last POTUS. *sigh*

(185 posts)I was impressed by Beto's interview. He did a great job with the foreign policy questions. I wish Rachel had the time to have also asked about his climate change plan.
